[quote name='Sojourner' date='Sep 9 2005, 11:55 AM']I'm glad I did it once. Never again, unless it's on some secret undercover mission for the CIA.  :ninja:

By the way ... nice effect with the type.

thanks :) She loved it. She's going to do it again when she can afford to. I'm not at all surprised. She's a daredevil.

I'm an "I'll try anything once"-er. As I've gotten older, daredevil stuff is less appealing. Although I really want to go white-water rafting.

Most women begin having Braxton Hicks much earlier on, like in the second trimester. You don't feel like they are helping except MAYBE at the very end. They're really just irksome. (Your stomach area hardens---sometimes the whole area, sometimes just part---and is uncomfortable, and sometimes it can hurt.) BH don't mean that the baby is coming soon, though. lol

[quote name='hot stuff' date='Sep 9 2005, 12:21 PM']Sorry

I was doing important corporate thingies...
When my first nephew was born.  He was born at 2:33 AM.  I lived only 6 minutes from the hospital so I rushed over.  Prior to getting there, I stopped at an all night grocery store and picked up flowers, balloons and just for giggles, doughnuts.  When I arrived, my nephew was getting his first meal so I stayed outside the room and sent the gifts in with the nurse.

After a few minutes, they wheeled out the balogna loaf that would be my godson and I went in.  The balloons were floating randomly in the corner, the flowers were literally thrown on the floor,
My sister was double fisting the doughnuts into her mouth.  Apparently 28 hours of labor can make someone hungry.  The hospital kitchen doesn't open until 6:00 AM so if you end up having a baby in the wee hours
Bring doughnuts.

My Midwives make us breakfast afterwards. :D: (I don't deliver at home, I go to a birth center.) And they let me eat and drink during labor if I want to, but my labors are so fast I really only have time to drink. haha

It was nice the first time, kinda scary the second time. I was afraid I wouldn't make it there. I recommend 5 hours. 2 is way too short, especially when you have a 45 minute drive ahead of you. I keep saying my third (whenever that happens) will end up a home birth.

I hope it all goes faster and smoothly for you this time around! I'll be praying for you, for sure!

oh, duh, did you mean it must be nice that they let me eat/feed me? lol Yeah, it is, because I never think to bring anything to snack on. lol Other than the possibility of throwing up there is no reason why they should prevent you from eating, and some doctors actually like it if you get sick because, apparently, it actually helps things along.

Yeah, but she said the other day that the doctor said the baby was gettin' ready, so I figured it was a safe bet to agree.

Have someone you know post when it happens :P:

Seriously...ask a PMer for a phone number and call them to have a thread made so we can pray for you. :)
