hyperdulia again
does the church have rules about underwear, namely is there some guideline we should follow to decide what is modest and what is immodest--or does modesty not factor into the choosing of underwear? is not wearing it a sin? did y'all knwo underwear used to be referred to as un-mentionables? the bra was invented in the twentieth cenntury by a catholic socialite. Hermione
I don't think so... I'm not even sure people in those days wore underwear... their underwear was probably a t-shirt and shorts or something... or a piece of cloth wrapped around... everything.... I knew about un-mentionables. I don't think the Church mandates what unders we wear. I mean, we wear them UNDER so its not really a matter of modesty since no one sees them. It probably doesn't matter if you don't wear them so long as no one else knows.
hyperdulia again
it (the bra) was not invented to support breasts, but to minimize them and to free wealthy women from the corset
hyperdulia again
i read once that the church used to (unofficially) teach that clothing of some type should be worn at all times, even when bathing, and enjoying god's beautiful gift to married people. IcePrincessKRS
Bras, I think are necessary. I don't care if they minimize, maximize, hide, or whatever, but they hafta support. If you wear a flimsy one and it doesn't look like you have one on then whats the point of it? Braless = Nasty

IcePrincessKRS
I prefer to look at it as a conversation about clothing, beginning with the essentials and working out way up. ;)

karissa
I actually read in some magazine that it's not necessary for people these days to wear underwear because we bathe much more often than people in the olden days...They wore them to prevent disease, but since we clean ourselves more than like once a month (hopefully ). But I definitely agree that bras should be worn!! Especially for the well endowed :D
