Hi, everyone.. I have been Catholic all my life, and have had to deal with predjudice all my life. My husband was a "non-practicing" Protestant when we met, and he had so many misconceptions about the Catholic church, I could hardly believe my ears! But the difference between him and many of those who hate Catholics is that my husband was willing to discuss, read, and learn the truth about our Church. And there are many Protestants out there willing to do the same. In fact, good friends of ours, a married couple, are Protestant and have done their research. They're confused as to how anyone could think the Church is NOT scriptural.

There was a time when I let anti-Catholics really get to me. It still bothers me that people could think such awful things, but if someone's not willing to let go of their hate, not willing to educate themselves about the Church, not willing to open their ears and listen, then the only thing I have found left to do is turn it over to God. Pray for them. Don't continue to argue, don't fight, don't fuel the fire. Recommend some good books, excuse yourself from the situation, and pray to the Lord that their hearts let go of the hatred. Don't allow yourself to be consumed with this sort of thing..

God loves EVERYONE, and we are children of God, to therefore walk in the footsteps of Jesus. No predjudice is right, against Catholics, Protestants, or otherwise. Prayer is powerful stuff, and that's the best way to deal with any situation! :)

(Hoping this didn't come across as TOO preachy! ;) )

Hello, MrsFrozen-

I didn't think you were being "preachy" although if sincere, "preachy" can be good!

You are right on in what you had to say, and you actually helped me in how I will deal with a situation that I've been in on a Protestant forum.

Don John of Austria

Well as the resident basher of heads.

Frozen I understand your goals and think them good, but I completely disagree with you. Prejudice means prejudgement and God requires that we be Predjudiced For and Agianst, all kinds of things. I am prejudiced agianst Protestantism it shreded Christendom, it continues to lead people away from Christ to what they want Christ to be. It is Evil ( that doesn't mean that all Protestants are Evil, but Protestantiam is). We should be civil but not simply walk away for to do so is to shirk our responsability to God and to our fellow man who is in Grave danger of losing his soul.

Just when Mrs. Frozen was softening my heart a bit, Don, you had to go and bash some more cold, hard thinking into my head! :o

I think the Anti-Catholics need to learn about the Catholic faith before they start throwing stones, bunch of hypocrites. They need to learn from a devoute Catholic who knows their Faith.
