Sojourner Posted August 29, 2005 Share Posted August 29, 2005 It still doesn't encourage dialogue to call people heretics, no matter how right you may be. As a former Protestant who has many, many close Protestant friends, I take personal offense at that term in reference to the vast majority of Protestants today. Most Protestants made no formal choice to not be Catholic. They either grew up in their respective churches, or they have never heard the truth of Catholic teaching. Regardless of the technicalities, it's simply offensive to pull out a loaded word like "heretic" and use it in this fashion. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
