Oik
They might be already. I pray that the good Bishop would submit to the Pope. I am hopeful and the requests that the Bishop is going to make have actually already (as I have heard) been considered. In short, I hope that SSPX will come back into the flock. popestpiusx
Monday must definately be a day of prayer and fasting that this rift may be healed. I have great hope for this meeting. I have tremendous respect for both of them. I'm glad Bishop Fellay is going in alone (without the other SSPX bishops, especially Williamson). Laudate_Dominum
I wish I could over hear their conversation. I bet its going to be deep.

I'd actually like to see that. His first move would be to implode that wretched bulding Mahoney calls a 'cathedral'. I'll bet he would even raffle off tickets for the honor of pushing the button. (I'd have to buy one).

It seems to me that this is the climax or the moment of truth for the society. The conditions are ripe. Fellay (and many of the clergy) are well aware of this. He knows the situation must be remedied. I tend to think that it is either now or never.

Cam42
From that report, it sounds like the schism will continue..... It seems that the SSPX is unwilling to conform to the Church. I will pray for them. Especially since they find the Holy Father weak in this issue.

Fellay has a good head on his shoulders and there is much support within the society fo a rapprochement.

Aloysius
even from "find the strength" it does not necessarily imply weakness (except all human weakness that needs Christ) he is praying that God will give the pope the strenth to correct all problems within the Church esecially the liturgical abuses and heterodoxy that has become so prevalent... there is nothing wrong with that.
