RC_
I was eating out with my friend's family (who are not Catholic), and they pick McDonald's. Stupidly, I order a McFish McSandwich, or whatever the heck they call it...Big mistake!
Nathan
I generally avoid McDonalds like the plague -- I'll eat there only if I'm absolutely STARVING and there's nothing else in sight. I've eaten there maybe two or three times in the past five years. It is not good food. I'll never forget the time me and a friend of mine, who is a seasoned kickboxer and probably the healthiest and fittest person I know, ate at Mickey D's. This is a guy who normally has protein shakes and wheat germ for dinner, but we were out on the town late one night and he was starving, so he went ahead and ordered a Big Mac and fries. Twenty minutes later he was puking in a ditch. Edited August 27, 2005 by Nathan

I avoid all forms of McFood, exceptions only: a drink to take medicine with and I do get this strange craving occasionaly for their little squashed cheeseburgers. Sorry about your fish-wich RC_, must have been pretty nasty.
stargirl3:16
As much as I know it's bad for me, I still crave their fries and their shakes...
the_rev
I'd starve, I don't like fries, and I'm allergic to fish.

FlyLikeABird
I didn't think it was required? All I know is that during Lent you're supposed to. I've grown up with only during Lent...
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
its required just not in the US but its highly recommended and its been tradition for a very long time if you don't do it your supposed to do some other uspecified penance. sam
FlyLikeABird
Ah, recommended I know that yes. I'm pretty sure it's the same in Canada. It's a practice I tend to neglect, partially because my schedule and life change almost week to week and I have trouble remembering fiddly things! Thought I usually do a good job of following it when I remember!

curtins
Yeah I, uh, had a big, juicy, tender, perfectly grilled steak last night *starts drooling* I always forget about the no meat on fridays, cause we only do that during lent. I should practice it but it would be a thing of habbit and I'd have to get into the habbit. btw their fries have some sorta beef product in them or something. Stick to Fruit n' yogurt parfaits- thats all I ever get there- healthy and delicious.

Brother Adam
Eh. I hate McDonalds. Their food tastes like you are eating lard out of a trough. I also am not fond of Burger King or Wendies, but they are better. I prefer to eat at Subway if I have to have fast food.
