Theologian in Training
I used to do that until my guardian angel kept letting me sleep in. Try explaining to your mentor that you missed Morning Prayer and Mass because you did not set your alarm clock, waiting for your guardian angel to wake you up. Unfortunately, a reason such as that is seen as an excuse in this day and age....unfortunately. God Bless
Fidei Defensor
Heheh.. last night, I asked my angel to not let me fall back asleep in the morning when my alarm went off. When I woke up then, in the morning, I decided that I had time to sleep another hour, but I just could not fall back asleep. But then I remembered I told him not to let me go back asleep, so I told him it was okay now, and I fell asleep.

IcePrincessKRS
I ask our guardian angels to watch over and protect us in the night while we sleep, but thats usually all I ask on a regular basis. Sometimes I send my angel to friends in need of prayer.
Totus Tuus
I try to talk to mine every day. Two things I recently learned are: + Do not try to find out the name of your guardian angel. A demon could give you a name. I'm not trying to be a weirdo or anything, but a reliable priest told me that it is better just to refer to your angel without using a name you were "inspired" with or something, but you can give your angel a nickname, if you wish. + God chooses the angel that has the personality that best suits YOU! Also, there are nine choirs of angels, and guardian angels are not one of them- God chooses from any one of the nine choirs (archangels, seraphim, cherubim, dominions, virtues, etc.). Isn't that aweseme?? Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God's love commits me here: ever this day be at my side to light, to guard, to rule, to guide. Amen.

Totus Tuus
I know it just goes to show how true it is that God loves us and knows us better than we know ourselves. Oh and another thing, our angels do not leave us when we commit a mortal sin (which is amazing, since basically everything good does).
blueufo7
+ Do not try to find out the name of your guardian angel. A demon could give you a name.
whoops! well, in my CCD class when I was little, the priests encouraged us to get to know our angels; one way was by asking our angel its name. So don't think I was "inspired" but I asked a name when I was little and saw lots of little things all in order, and figured her name was Rosa! I guess I was lucky; so far I don't think this has been anything demonic. here's another thing... everytime I fall asleep praying my rosary, I wake up and find the rosary under the middle of my back. every single time! and I'm a mover and a kicker in my sleep. I think Rosa finishes off the rosary I fell asleep praying, and then puts it behind me so that I can find it the next morning. :-)

StColette
1. In times of confusion they direct us. Acts 10:1-11:18 Cornelius, a gentile, saw an angel who told him to send for Peter. Through what happened after this event, the pouring out of the Holy Spirit on these gentiles, the Jews with Peter understood that Jesus was for gentiles also. 2. In times of crisis, angels strengthen us. When Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Bible says, "Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him". (Luke 22:43) 3. In times of despair, angels encourage us. When Abraham gave in to his wife Sarah and agreed to father a child by Hagar, he started a family feud that has never been resolved. After Ishmael was born to Hagar, Sarah became so jealous of Hagar that in anger she sent them both away. When God came to Hagar through His angel, she was alone and full of despair. Hagar knew from the angel's message that her son would be blessed. In fact, the very name of her son, "Ishmael," meant "God hears." Hagar was so encouraged by the visit from God's angel, she call the Lord, "You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees" (Genesis 16:13. 4. In times of danger, angels protect us. "The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7). Frank Laubach, missionary in the Philippine Islands in 1929 walked up to a hilltop on Mindanao to pray. He was unaware a band of Moro head-hunters was following him. They told him later, that they would have killed him, but he was never alone. They said a big man walked beside Laubach, and the Moros were strangely afraid of him. That day of prayer was when Lauback made the commitment that resulted in his missionary and literacy work with impoverished people--"each one, teach one"--that is still going on today. We went through the verses from Hebrews Chap 1 and Matthew together... and he kind of scratched his head and was like, "even if we have them, so what?" i know i dont pay my angel enough attention... but still, she's a very powerful ally to have around!!! but he's such a faithful Christian, his angel is praying for him... i have confidence that he'll come around soon enough If I make it to heaven, I really want to know and see all the times my angel kept me from harm or helped me overcome a temptation, or kept me from doing something really stupid... or just took care of me!
