RC_
Don't break up. Long term relationships can and do work. My parents had one for over two years while my dad tended to business in Honduras. He returned, they got married and had three wonderful children. (OK, they had one wonderful child, and two sorta goodish ones.)

track2004
we're breaking up. it's been determined, a while back too. we are planning on talking all the time though... really i guess we're just down grading to really close friends for the semester while we date other people and figure out some personal stuff. Michael D.
I think that you should get a web cam. because its not only a really cool technogeeky way to keep in touch, you get to acctually see him... yeah. if you are real nice he would prolly buy you one too. so it wouldnt cost anything.. also, emo smells of elderberries. track2004
Yeah well emo doesn't smell of elderberries when you are breaking up. Emo is an entire genre of music specifically for post-break-up crying and smoking. Though I do not recommend every day emo usage, it comes in handy. You always have to have one Dashboard Confessional CD on hand in case the fateful day comes when you are once again single.
Michael D.
if by "doesnt smell of elderberries" you mean is a completely worthless form of music... then i agree completely. You are very astute in your observation that the entire genre is just abunch of loser white kids who's girlfriends broke up with them because they are such downers all the time who never stopped whining about their last girlfriend breaking up with them. A group of people who feel that the entire public must share in their experience because they are so "emotionally fragile" and want to whine and moan about any and every thing that happens to them. They want to express their "deep souls" through all 3 of the chords they know, in a completely unorigional and uninspired format. They could do the world a favor and just shut up and get over the fact that their girlfriend broke their hearts in the 6th grade. If you want to feel better because you just got dumped then listen to something up lifting, because falling into an sorrow driven emo binge is just what they want you to do so you will by their cds and perpetuate the evil cycle of emo whining that is polluting our air waves. if you want something to listen to, gimmie your addy and i will mail you a jack johnson cd. track2004
i never said the entire public should listen to emo music. i just want to right now as a am breaking up with my guy. it isn't something that should be widely listened to, but there is a place for it. as the byrds said, "To every thing, turn, turn, turn, / There is a season, turn, turn, turn, / And a time to every purpose under heaven / A time to build up, a time to break down / A time to dance, a time to mourn / etc, etc". all in all i would agree it's not actually good music but it helps me in a post-break-up situation, and i already have a jack johnson cd thank you very much. Michael D.
Thats my point, and the byrds would agree if they heard this emo junk, There is no season for emo. no reason for emo. and no way that its appropriate in any situation for any reason. You need to do yourself a seious favor and delete/burn any emo you may have. Invest your music time in anything other than emo. Have you considered that your bf is prolly letting you go because you listen to emo. I bet you if you denounced its evil he would love you forever. If you are going to be that depressed that you feel the need to listen to somethign as bad as emo i would suggest that you start drinking heavily. Anything to not listen to emo. lets recap. 1. emo music is whiny and annoying 2. it has no merit musically 3. emo music is whiny and annoying 4. there is no way that the emo artists have had as many failed relationships as they have songs about breakups so that must mean that they are writing multiple songs about the same break, which is totally pathetic. 5. emo music is whiny and annoying 6. other than the obvious brain and inner ear damage, emo music causes one to dwell unnecessiarily on events that are in the past, which only perpetuates the depression that occurs after a breakup. 7. emo music is whiny and annoying 8. these sites say it all. www.emosucks.com , www.emosucks.net 9. emo is whiny and annoying. 10. A quote from a song that says it all.
our hair is really shaggy our clothes are never baggy we all feel really faggy thats cause were EMO and we're trendy all our girls have left us in our songs we do not cuss no need to make a big fuss thats cause were EMO and we're all crying inside you've got saves the day and new found glory pick any EMO band and every song is the same d*mn story girlfriend hits the road, it makes me sad if my father was alive and saw me, he would beat me really bad what the hell has happened to his son cries over hoes, wears tight ass clothes, and thinks its really fun go get high, or something real i'd rather have a junkie child than one expressing how he feels
that pretty much sums it up now doesnt it. Track, i hope your soon to be ex doesnt like emo, cause if he does you should have dumped him a long time ago.
track2004
i have never said emo was actually good, just that it has a time and place, like country music. maybe the alcohol thing would be good though, drink heavily and pick a fight with someone, because i tend to pick fights when i'm upset. next week is going to be interesting any way i actually go about it. Michael D.
do that. find some other girls, and fight them. do this while completely inebriated. and forget the emo carp. Edited August 18, 2005 by Michael D.
