I actually work as a photographer at a museum that restores WWII aircraft - there was actaully a plane called a PBY, where the bottom was shaped like a boat, and it could take off and land on water. I'd post a picture if I could figure out how to...

Ok, I'll give this a shot. These first two are pictures of the PBY:

Finally, here are a couple of shots I got to take "air-to-air." We were riding in the back of a WWII B-25, flying formation with an SBD, F4F, and two Zero's. It was an AMAZING experience!!!

Let me clarify:

I used the term "shot" or "shooting" to indicate "taking a picture." Not "shot" as in "shooting a gun."

It's a photographers short-hand I guess :-)
