Rites of the Catholic Church

Winchester

Is it possible to teach people that RCC refers only to one rite in the Cahtolic Church, leaving approx 23 with the same doctrine out in the cold?

Oh.

Since when do you care? And some people don't want to say 'Catholic' when talking about Catholics because they consider themselves Catholic too even though they are also Protestant. It could anger them. And the submitting to the Pope for salvation for all 23 and the "bring the papacy back to Rome" that went on both remind people of Rome in a certain way.

I'm not sure what you wanted to get across when you said "there are senses of the word."
When you slid on to them sliding on to criticizing celibacy and then said they don't know what they're talking about, I understood you fine and agree about the tendency.
