God Conquers
ummm, I mean this as a constructive criticism. I can't understand your posts. Could you try to use some punctuation?
phatcatholic
i think eminem has uncanny, ABSURD (in a good way) talent. but, until we know more about his personal life and his exposure and experiences w/ christianity, we can't judge his degree of union w/ the body of Christ, and especially not his salvation. it just doesn't seem like we have that right. i mean, why do people allow themselves to be so scandalized by this guy's music? i think--if i remember correctly--Jesus once said to Peter something to the effect of: "What concern is this to you? Come follow me." i think his music is harmless. it just seems like all of this uproar in the courts and people smashing eminem cd's (a la Motely Crew) is all the product of people hiding under a "noble cause" so they can feel better about their own sinful lives. i say, take the plank from your own eye before you point at the splinter in his, or anyone else's for that matter. ....but, for some reason i feel like my feelings could change on this matter. it's 2:50am. i'm going to bed. pax christi, nick ps: just imagine if eminem rapped about christianity! now THAT would be using ur God-given talent to serve the Lord! Seatbelt Blue
I take issue with calling him a lyricist; he's a rapper. The two are quite different.
CatholicAndFanatical
whatever you want to label him, lyricist or not. He does have a way with words. Up until I found phatmass, I bumped to his music alot. Thank the Good Lord I know have MC Just and Father Pontifex and a host of others to turn to. Eminem knows about God, talks about God in his music, and knows that God can help in any given situation. But he choses to not live a very Christian life. He seems cool as a person though, I watched one of his biographies on VH1 one time. most of his music is harsh, but thats why he does it, just to get attention and the ticket sales. I agree with you though, if he ever started spittin about Christ, whoa, look out world, you aint ready. CatholicAndFanatical

musturde
I used to listen to him (back in the days of 2002)
M.SIGGA
amesome lyricist - but his effect on upper and upper-middle class teens is a little annoying. I went to an all-boy Catholic prep school and everyone there was "feeling his message" and identifying with the "gangsta-lifestyle" while driving off in their benz and bmw's to their quarter and 1/2 million $$$ houses. Not very Christian though...
