franciscanheart
What advice can one give after such posts? I too offer my prayers and support. It won't always be easy and it definitely won't always come in our time but God's time is the best time and His rewards are the best of all. Honour
Thanky guys...like an answer to prayer this lady called my back last night at 7:10....to let me know the story on RCIA....come to find out....the have inquiry classes all year round that meet every Tuesday at 7! So I don't even have to formerly start RCIA if I am not ready, and won't feel bad if I can't be accepted with the rest of the class....cause its just inquiry! I wanted to go last night, but she pointed out that it was already past seven....and I thought that would be kinda rude. She was really surprised I was so eager....I bet she didn't even know I had been trying to contact her as much as a month ago! I just wish the people at the church had told me about the inquiry classes when I called forever ago! Oh well. I am sure God did it for a reason...so the timing would be right! I am excited.....again!

Congratulations!!!!
Oh my goodness isn't it though? When I first spoke to a Catholic about it (director of campus student ministry) I was like, "I'm kind of sort of beginning to think about perhaps considering whether I should maybe think about being Catholic." And telling my pastor from my old church, I literally had nightmares about it for a week! And did I ever dread telling my Bible study leader and the man who discipled me! I'm so glad all that is over....sort of.... I still dread the people from my first church finding out what I've done, althought they already think I'm going to hell anyways..... so you'd think it wouldn't matter to me..... Brother Adam
Personal relationships are important to us though, and become Catholic is one of the hardest steps towards God for many of us on our journey. Unlike becoming something like a JW or Mormon, our fundamentalist friends don't know how to react appropriately. One of the friends that abandoned me said they would have preferred I would have become Mormon because it would be much easier to try to draw me back into his beliefs. True, because becoming Mormon moves you even further away from the Church. They know something is 'different' about the Catholic Church, and they think it is the lies they have been taught, but you can see that in many people, there is something in their heart that just won't let them settle on that. avemaria40
When i was little, i asked my mom why i couldn't recieve first communion, like all the other kids, and she told me i wasn't Catholic. I didn't know my parent's stance on the Catholic Church, so when i was thirteen and thinking about joining, i was terrified.
