i was just wonderen if the hiphop u hear on the radio is totally doctored in the studio ??
for instance, is every line and mabey even every word recored at one phase at a time........so everything sounds perfect ?? u never really hear anything anymore where it sounds like a freestyle all the way through....................not that this is really a bad thing........becuz it does sound good when every word is hit just write on a song........i was jus curious though if this is the case........or are the rappers really that skilled to go through the song in big lumps without stopping and breaking things down bar by bar...................

I cant stand radio hip-hop. ITs a bit annoynig hearing the same songs over and over and over again. Like on the radio here, they keep playing the same kanye west songs and the same reggaeton songs. I end up having songs i dont even like stuck in my head. lol

I doubt it, but they probably do a lot of work to make the voice sound as perfect as it can sound.

I don't listen to rap/hip hop much, but why does it always sound awful/crappy live? Maybe just cause I am watching on tv, but it sounds bad, (especially when it is like 4 rappers, you know and one is always saying "uh.....yeah...."or is it more about the bud and the booty so I am missing it? :disguise:

It depends on the rapper.

Miko, for example, usually records his entire song without breaking it up at all. Other rappers will record a few lines at a time. Others will record every other line and then go back and fill in the odd lines. I wouldn't call it "doctored". I'd call it studio rapping. haha... It's just different techniques used while recording.

Live rapping is totally different because you CAN'T take breaks between lines. This is where the "backup rapper" comes in handy live. An experienced hip-hop group will back eachother's vocals up, so that the main rapper can take breaks to breathe between lines.

I agree that most live hip-hop on the TV is carp, like on award shows and stuff. I suggest watching groups like the Beastie Boys and the Black Eyed Peas if you wanna see a GOOD live hip-hop show. Point 5 Covenant ain't so bad either. ;)

Rappers like Eminem, Tupac, Fifty Cent, etc are horrible live acts, in my opinion. I'd call them studio rappers myself.

Here's a tip: You can usually tell who is a good LIVE hip-hop group if you can name their DJ... Eminem, Fifty Cent, Etc = no DJ. :)
