homeschoolmom
We never have baptisms during mass (aside from Easter Vigil) because we are such a huge parish we would have several of them every week. The only time I've seen a baptism during mass was when we were in Indianapolis and we went to mass with PedroX, Sojourner and Mickey's Girl... and I was completely surprised since I'd never seen it done before. Old_Joe
I believe that if you put Christ first and foremost in your life, everything else falls into place or fades because you aren't going to need it anymore.

Fidei Defensor
[quote name='T-Bone' date='Aug 1 2005, 03:27 AM']The only think that makes Mass longer and more boring is when they read from the bullitien before the closing prayer... Dave
Nick, I know I mentioned this to you previously, but your problem sounds like the problem I have with my sister. She's not Catholic and doesn't seem to care one whit about God. Heck, she never even goes to church except when she comes home to visit, and even then it's my parents' church. If I mention something God-related she just rolls her eyes. I try to be a good example, but like you, I don't feel like it says anything to her either. So all I can do is pray for her, which I do all the time.

Cam42
[quote name='phatcatholic' date='Aug 1 2005, 03:20 AM']definitely NOT the "men in black" brother. that's my twin matt and he would never say something like that. matt and i are totally on the same page w/ this Church we would die for. that convo was w/ my younger brother ben. he's 21. i also have another younger bro who is 22. they are more............apathetic when it cames to the Church, like "ahh...........whatever." its a constant source of sadness for me, for real. and it just kills me that the only thing i can do is pray. talking to them doesn't work. i don't even feel like my example really says anything to them. i think they're just like, "well, matt and nick can do their thing and we'll do ours." we don't even sit together when we go to church anymore b/c they always want to stand in the very back so they can leave after communion and b/c they feel awkward when matt and i are the only ones kneeling after the FREAKIN Agnus Dei (see how much scandal these liturgical abuses cause!!!!!!!!!!!) ugh! someone shoot me.........
