ben: its kinda like overtime in basketaball. some people think that makes the game long and boring nick: yea, but not to the ones who appreciate the game ben: yea, i guess some people just appreciate different things nick: yea...... jmjtina
awwww, nick, I'm sorry. I like overtime, and it's anything BUT boring, especially at a basketball game. plus, I like to see if the kid is going to squirm or what. Does your priest hold up the baby to introduce them to the parish? I'm glad you enjoyed Mass!!!!!! It is a beautiful thing!!! Don't let your brother get you down!!!! (siblings smell of elderberries the fun out of alot of things actually)
Old_Joe
I had a similar discussion with a friend of mine. she basically told me that she gets more out of personal prayer than the Mass. After talking some more, I figured out that it stemmed from her problems with her Mom, because she saw her Mom as forcing to go to Mass. I also suspect that she may not have a deep intimate understanding of the Mass. Edited August 1, 2005 by Old_Joe
ReinnieR
You wouldn't be able to imagine what kind of conversations I have with my brother. Miriam can tell you though Edited August 1, 2005 by ReinnieR
Ash Wednesday
Once we grasp the wonderful thing that is the Eucharist... the rest falls into place and mass becomes a must-have. But it's so frustrating to see members of your own family indifferent, especially if you were all raised in the same faith. One of my brothers is that way. It seems he could care less. But I keep praying for him and offering up for other family members, too.
qfnol31
Oh....I personally prefer no Baptisms during Mass. Maybe that's just me. Then again, it could be my parish too.
phatcatholic
somebody's mind had already left the building . . . (is this the men in black brother? or do you have more than one brother in town?)
definitely NOT the "men in black" brother. that's my twin matt and he would never say something like that. matt and i are totally on the same page w/ this Church we would die for. that convo was w/ my younger brother ben. he's 21. i also have another younger bro who is 22. they are more............apathetic when it cames to the Church, like "ahh...........whatever." its a constant source of sadness for me, for real. and it just kills me that the only thing i can do is pray. talking to them doesn't work. i don't even feel like my example really says anything to them. i think they're just like, "well, matt and nick can do their thing and we'll do ours." we don't even sit together when we go to church anymore b/c they always want to stand in the very back so they can leave after communion and b/c they feel awkward when matt and i are the only ones kneeling after the FREAKIN Agnus Dei (see how much scandal these liturgical abuses cause!!!!!!!!!!!) ugh! someone shoot me......... Guest T-Bone
The only think that makes Mass longer and more boring is when they read from the bullitien before the closing prayer...
