thessalonian
I hadn't ever seen it happen but heard of it before. Tonight at the 5:30 Mass our parish got chick tracked (on the car windows). Wish I could go out there tommorrow and see if they come back for the other masses. I would walk behind them praying the rosary and picking up their little slanders. We picked as many of them up as we could. The kids really got in to it. Unfortunately many of them still were taken. I reported it to the Church office and maybe they will have someone tell them to get lost if they come back. The books were "why is mary crying". The usual tripe about other mediators and all and "how do you get saved".
DemonSlayer
You should try and find where their church is and put Catholic leaflets, etc on their cars.
Laudate_Dominum
"Why is Mary Crying?" is one of the more absurd and asinine. Most people will think it's dumb, if they actually read it (hopefully). I was floored by the sheer stupidity of it when I read it. Maybe you should pull a Karl Keating and go put tracts on their cars sometime.
Ash Wednesday
How about a Chick Tract drinking game? That could be fun.... Just kidding. Though that would get under their skin, wouldn't it? :
BeenaBobba
If I found Chick tracts on my car, I'd laugh. If anything, Chick tracts would probably drive people away from that sort of Fundamentalist Christianity. But still, I cringe when I think of the uneducated Catholics who might have fallen for his carp.

Actually, you can get Catholic tracts here. Guest T-Bone
Our parish is constantly (OK, maybe not constantly, but it happens about twice a year) papered with SDA rubbish. I'm tempted to collect it all mix it with water and put the whole mess on the doorstep of thier chruch the next time it happens...
Guest jonno
C'mon Catholics What about turning the other cheek? These guys doing the trackting are living up to their christian responsibility to evangelize. Yes, in a pretty misguided way but at least they are being proactive. Maybe this is one to turn over to God - Pray for more ecumenical harmony between all christians.
Guest T-Bone
I don't want anyone putting things on my car, regardless of content. When advertisers stick leaflets under my windshield wiper, I call them and infrom them that I will not do business with them because of that fact. The "Chick-tians" are not doing thier "christian duty"-- they are littering.
phatcatholic
i suppose they have a right to be proactive, but then again, we do to. usually churches who hand out those tracts stamp their address or their church name on the back so u know which church to go to in order to learn the "true gospel." if they have identified themselves, i definitely think we should turn around and share the TRUE gospel w/ them. toledo_jesus
i'd leave tracts around for them. it sounds delightfully confrontational.
homeschoolmom
No one has the right to go on to private property and put that garbage on people's vehicles... I wonder if they'd dare to do it on Sunday morning... Thess? Did they?

Hey, if they can be proactive, we can be proactive. If they can leave tracts, we can leave tracts. There's nothing wrong with tracts in and of themselves. It's the messages in Chick tracts that bother most Catholics. Of course, we have a right to be bothered. What good, orthodox Catholic likes to hear the Church dissed like that? There is such a thing as righteous anger. We should pray for harmony amongst Christians of all denominations. I agree with you there; however, harmony does not entail completely curtailing any evangelistic/apologetic endeavors. There is a time and place for everything, right? They are indeed not living up to any Christian responsibilities spreading lies.
