M.SIGGA
There is very little "might" about it, these days. I have been to website - I would appreciate any third-party information. An organization is, of course, going to make themselves look good. The Legion of Christ's website doesn't publicize accusations of cult-like behavior, to use an example, despite the fact that such allegations exist. So, I would like, if anyone knows of any, some third-party accounts. Thank you. The Paulist Order is primarily a missionary order that operates all over the world and seeks to convert Non-Catholics to Christ. If this is your calling then this might be the order for you. Regarding controversy, all religious orders that are over 40 years old are going to have some degree of controversy so I don't know what you are looking for exactly. Despite the liberal opinions a few of their priests might have regarding conservative Catholicism, their order is a treasure of the Church and they do many good works as heralds of the Gospel at every corner of the globe. If you want an order that doesn't have any controversey and is most likely to have a membership that is 100% orthodox, you might want to consider one of the orders already mentioned on this post, or one that is relatively new. I hope your vocation is real b/c the world needs more good priests! The Paulist youth website is http://www.bustedhalo.com God Bless :D
Katholikos
There is no such thing as "conservative Catholicism" -- or "moderate" or "liberal" Catholicism -- as if it were a political persuasion or opinion. Catholicism is either true or untrue, orthodox or unorthodox. I don't get to believe in some of the Church's teachings and not others. It's a package deal. One has the choice to accept all of what the Church teaches or reject it. By definition, a Catholic accepts the authority of the Catholic Church to speak for Christ. "He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me . . ." Lk 10:16.
megrc
Have you tried talking to your pastor? All pastors should have info on different orders, and if they don't then they would know where to get it. By the way, I don't know if you have any doubts about the Legion, but I can personally say that there is no cult like activity going on there  . I don't know why anyone would say that, but whatever.

Spiritual_Arsonist
I don't know anything about them, but have you looked into the Legionaries of Christ? It's another great order. Have you ever spent time with the Legionaries??? They are fun to be around to say the least.
God Conquers
Oh YA! I know one priest very well, and a couple of my friends spent time at their postulency in New York State. They're great.

BLAZEr
I can only tell you what I know from Personal experience. The Paulist Press which publishes books, is heterodox. That means that some of the stuff the publish is orthodox and some is definitely not in line with the Church's teachings. The Paulists at the University of Texas hardly wear clerics, certainly not their habit. They have allowed women to concelebrate and they are not obedient to the Bishop and his instructions for the Liturgy. A very good, holy, orthodox priest there from the Diocese is having a very hard time fighting their abuses. I would guess that they are like most orders today. Some Paulist priests are probably very good, some are probably bordering on heretical, and most are in the lazy middle. If you want to be happy in religious life, join an order that is vibrant and orhtodox and enthusiastically faithful to the Holy Father (which means that they advertise their fidelity). Otherwise you will spend your time resenting the "liberal" influence and hiding your faithfulness in order to make it through formation alive. If you hide then, you will always hide. Homiletic and Pastoral review had a great article on this "hiding priest" syndrome. I'll pray for your vocation, in the mean time read this thread: http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/index.php?s...wtopic=3467&hl= I posted some links to some good orders that you can check out.
