Anastasia13
Is there a connection between the smoke mentioned in Isaiah 34 and in Revelation?
Guest Eremite
Probably. I've always thought that a frightening image in Revelation, "the smoke of her torment goes up for ever and ever".
Anastasia13
Yes, but it seems like in Revelation it's talking about beings and in Isaiah land, so I seem to be missing something.
Guest Eremite
Isaiah 34 is discussing the vengeance God will take on Edom, the enemy of Zion (in the context of Isaiah, Israel, but in a prophetic context, Zion is the Church). The Lord will utterly lay waste the Kingdom of Satan (Edom), and Zion (the Church) will rejoice in her Savior.
