Confession

You ever have one of those times when you go for Confession, and after waiting, it turns out there just isn't enough time?

I went yesterday, or tried to. I waited about 1 1/2 and by the time I could go, the Priest had to leave as Mass was about to start and he had a Wedding to get to. He apologized and told us (there was another person waiting as well) to ask one of the Priest after the Mass (There was the Pastor and a visiting Priest). So... We both did. Felt kinda wierd as I wasn't really dressed for Mass, but I stayed as did the other person.
So after Mass, we went up to the Priests to let them know of the situation and they apologized then left :(
We we're both kinda like... Yea... so now what...

O well, guess it wasn't a day for Confession :ninja:

Anyone else ever have one of those days?

That happens to me every time.

Or, usually, when one pastor is gone, then everyone at church needs to go to confession for some reason, but when they are both there, no one goes at all.

Noel's angel

in our Parish, Confessions start at 12 noon and the next Mass isn't until 6.30pm so it isn't really a problem

its tough for me to make it to Confession too.... mind you, I dont drive, my folks are always too "busy", and its my aunt that I go to Mass with.. and confession when possible

She is a Eucharistic Minister and a reader.. and its always for the Saturday noon mass when she is on the shedule for that week, Confessions are Saturday... so.. in order to go to confession, the following criteria must be met

1. She is not a Eucharistic Minister or Lector for that week
2. She does not have any plans for Saturday
3 . I do not have any plans for saturday

when we do go to confession, we go to the Mass afterwards, and my aunt does not seem to be keen on going to the Mass Twice during the same week for some reason

It was a huge pain when we thought we could go about a month ago. she wasn't on the schedule for anything Sunday.. then the guy who makes the schedules changed everything around with little notice, hence keeping us from going to confession.. havn't been able to go since

PS: Thank you to the phatmassers for being more understanding.. most of these Catholic chats I used to go to, they would say I was the one making excuses not to go <_<

I know the feeling. I didnt have many opportunities, but when i would, i feared going, so i didnt.

The Lord was forceful this time.

On saturday, I learned how to be an altar server. Well It just so happened i was going to be at the Saturday mass for a wedding blessing of some family members. Confessions were going to going on before mass. I wasnt sure if i could get there because my family is not particular to getting to church real early. Well, it also just so happened that Father wanted me to serve at the mass, even though i just learned. So i was forced to get their pretty early, and had time to get to confession.

I love the Lord!

My parish has about 20,000 people and a half hour of confession per week, Saturday 4:00-4:30. The good news is we usually have both confessionals going, and our head pastor will stay in the confessional until everyone's been heard if necessary (Mass starts at 5). At least sometimes there are lines

Only half an hour is offered for a parish of 20,000 people?

I guess most of the parishioners must be saints who have reached such heights of perfection that they no longer sin.

Haha, yeah. Like i said, sometimes there are lines, meaning most of the time only a few people go. So why offer more, I guess? :(

A very good idea. A good confessor will also go to confession (and make it clear to all that he is going to confession) with another priest before hearing confessions...when people see that the priests admit their sins...hehehe...
