goldenchild17
Yes, Protestants, if they are validly baptized, are brought into communion (an imperfect communion) with the Catholic Church through the sacrament of baptism. P.S. - I read through part of the thread you're involved in, and there were some posts that spoke about the Eastern Churches, and the great schism that occurred in the 11th century. But what wasn't mentioned was the fact that not all of the Eastern Churches are in schism. I myself am a member of an Eastern Church that is in full communion with the Pope. Eastern (Byzantine) Catholics practice all of the various theological and liturgical traditions of the East, and yet they are in full communion with the Bishop of Rome.
I know yeah. I should probably mention that. I just don't want to make things any more confusing at this point yet. If you read through that discussion, do you understand what I'm getting at? If Protestants attain a communion(albeit imperfect) with the Church through baptism, then please explain to me how heresy has not been made a part of the Church, IF they are in a sort of communion then we SORT OF have heresy within the Church(by Church I mean Catholic Church). Explain how this can be, thanks.

The fact that they have a partial communion with the Church means that they are related to the Church, but of course they are not members of the Church because they are not in full communion with her. Being related to the Church is not the same thing as being a full member of the Church. Vatican II talks about this in Lumen Gentium (cf. nos. 13-17), where it speaks of the different degrees of relation to the Catholic Church that can be experienced by individuals who, through no fault of their own, have not followed the impulse of grace and entered into full communion. In other words, it is the various errors in belief that cause the communion with the Church to be only partial. That is why there is no heresy in the Church, because the heresy is what is excluding the person from full communion.
