ThomasPeter
the local Greek Orthodox church i was at this past weekend has made it known they love to have people of any faith come to their Divine Liturgy. so my dad and i are planing to go this sunday. my question is: what can i expect their liturgy to be like? what is it like comp to the Roman Rite mass? i THINK they use the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, if that helps. thank you! tom
Pio Nono
JMJ 7/10 - Fifteenth Sunday ThomasPeter, The Liturgy will be markedly different. It will be the same in that there will be readings from the Bible and that there will be the consecration of bread and wine. Otherwise, it's vastly different - but very beautiful. The Greek Orthodox tend to chant everything - including the readings - in ancient Greek. Whether the homily will be in Greek, I know not. Hope this helps.
