Ora et Labora
What Jeff said. I sing Gregorian Chant at my Latin Mass and it is beautiful. Personally, I've always thought that the LTMasses were more of a social hall than a mass. And sometimes it isnt always good for teens, or lay people in general, to be "more involved" in the mass. Just give me the Priest, deacon and the altar boys... not girls, on the altar and I'm happy. But the ltmass is valid.

Paladin D
Which is why our Church is beautiful, diverse ways of worshipping God in the mass.
Sarah_JC
I agree completely! Yay for diversity of ways of praising the same God! I like Lifeteen Halifax, it's 57%* more reverent than the average Mass in my town. *Statistic may or may not have been made up on the spot. Nicole8223
The Lifeteen Mass by me is terrible. Completely irreverent and offensive. I was so excited about the idea at first, but after going, I was appalled. I go back every once in a while to see if things changed, but they are still the same so far. I know there are plenty of awesome Lifeteen Masses that are reverent, but my experience has been a really bad one. If you decide to go, I hope your experience is better!! lifeteenchick527
all of the core at our church are very good with making sure that the mass is reverent and often during lifenites have us go to adoration and everything is very reverant God Bless LTC :hearts:

kateri05
teens are able "help out more" with any mass, not just LIFETEEN. altar serving, ushering, lectoring and music minsitry is open to all ages, no matter what mass. and the "music is better", phillipe, isn't a good reason to chose a mass. not to mention, you can go to ANY mass and still come for LIFENite, its not just a LIFETEEN mass only thing. this from a LIFETEEN youth minister! Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
latin is the normal lauguange of the mass according to vatican II In the Vatican II document Sacrosanctum Concilium, it states, "The Church acknowledges Gregorian chant as specially suited to the Roman liturgy: therefore, other things being equal, it should be given pride of place in liturgical services. But other kinds of sacred music, especially polyphony, are by no means excluded from liturgical celebrations...In the Latin Church the pipe organ is to be held in high esteem, for it is the traditional musical instrument which adds a wonderful splendor to the Church's ceremonies and powerfully lifts up man's mind to God and to higher things. But other instruments also may be admitted for use in divine worship, with the knowledge and consent of the competent territorial authority (116, 120). The 1975 Roman missal states: "Since no Catholic would now deny the lawfulness and efficacy of a sacred rite celebrated in Latin, the Council was able to acknowledge that "the use of the mother tongue frequently may be of great advantage to the people" and gave permission for its use. The enthusiasm in response to this decision was so great that, under the leadership of the bishops and the Apostolic See, it has resulted in the permission for all liturgical celebrations in which the faithful participate to be in the vernacular for the sake of a better comprehension of the mystery being celebrated (12)." Sacrosanctum Concilium, also demands, "the use of the Latin language is to be preserved in the Latin rites"(36.1).But since the use of the mother tongue, whether in the Mass, the administration of the sacraments, or other parts of the liturgy, frequently may be of great advantage to the people, the limits of its employment may be extended. This will apply in the first place to the readings and directives, and to some of the prayers and chants (36.2).
