IcePrincessKRS
Me too, Hyper. After we had Adrienne Baptized we had her dedicated to Our Lady. Every night before going to sleep I ask our Guardian Angels to watch over and protect my little angel, and I ask Blessed Mother Mary to wrap her mantle around Adrienne. emalouhow
Sir (or madame), teach me this. I have never been able to cultivate a devotion to Mary. Seatbelt, It makes me SO happy to hear that you desire a devotion to Mary!! :D I promise you that simply because you desire Mary is smiling at you RIGHT NOW!! For me, a devotion to Mary simply comes from a love for her. But then the question is why do I love her? I love her because she said YES! She said yes without out any conditions, without any strings attached, without trying to propose a different method, without even fully knowing what her yes would mean for her life. I love her because she trusted God completely. I love her because she was totally open to whatever God asked of her. I love her because of her humility. Everything she did, everything she was pointed to Christ, was in relationship to her Son. I love Mary because she recognized God in everything. I love Mary because she shows me what is possible if I become completely open, if I become completely humble, if I learn to trust, if I say Yes! Christ became FLESH in the womb of Mary!! When she looked at him, she saw her Son, her Creator, her Spouse, her Redeemer. She saw and she recognized and she said YES! This is why I have a devotion to Mary. Because I beg Mary to teach me to say YES! I beg Mary to help me see Christ's face in the world, just as she saw Christ's face. Does this make sense? (I know I have a tendancy to just ramble on and on) I would love to hear more from you about this topic!

It does make sense, but I have trouble getting excited about like I get excited about the Eucharist.
cmotherofpirl
It doesn't have to be an emotional thing. Are you saying the rosary every day? Try it for a week. Use the virtualrosary.org program and reflect on the verses for each Hail Mary. Watching Mary is watching the perfect christian in action: "Do whatever he tells you." emalouhow
Â B) ...Just say "yes". RIGHT ON LOUNGE DADDY!!! Do you know how amesome it would be to be able to say yes like her....no conditions, no strings attached, in complete openness, trust, and humility (yes, I know I've mentioned this before, but WOW!!! This is what I want! :D ) I try to beg Mary every morning to help me be open, to recognize His Presence at every moment. I'm still not good at it, but I want it! I desire it!! It does make sense, but I have trouble getting excited about like I get excited about the Eucharist. Seatbelt, I am so glad to hear that you have a love for the Eucharist!!! That is amesome! My challenge to you is to also pray to Mary because I promise that she will help you develop an even deeper passion for the Blessed Sacrament. You know, I was praying the Rosary the other day meditating on the Luminous Mysteries, and I started thinking, "Can you imagine how Mary felt when she received the Eucharist? Can you imagine the intense love Mary would've had receiving the Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity of her Son?" Thoughts anyone? So this is what I think...just begin simply by waking up each morning and begging Mary to help you see Christ, to help you recognize His Face in those around you. And she will guide you to an even deeper love of Christ!
