Didacus
Is there any symbols relating to crows within catholicism? I know that a crow symbolises a return from the dead, but that is in voodoo or other cultures. I was just wondering, is there any catholic symbolism attached to crows? Any specific interpretations of them?
Pio Nono
JMJ 6/28 - St. Iranaeus of Lyons Didacus, Good question; I know that crows are traditionally symbolic of the Benedictine order, and are often pictured with St. Benedict in imagery. Also, the crow is symbolic of another Benedictine, St. Meinrad of Einsiedeln - he had a couple of pet crows. Hope this helps.
