Holding my little girl

Last night my wife went out to Target. She left our 13 mo. old daughter with me. The little thing was so tired. I shared some ice cream with her thenI went in the bed room, got her ready for bed and turned out the lights and just held her. It was very dark. She was scared a bit at first but calmed down as I spoke to her and fell asleep in my arms. She was able to trust me and forget about her fears or she would not be able to go to sleep.

I reflected on how this should be how it is with us and God. He holds us in the palm of his hand. He watches over us and provides for us. Why is it so hard sometimes to trust. My daughter can trust me. How much more should I trust the God of the universe. At any rate it was a beautiful moment. She is such a sweet little girl.

God bless

The funny part was when we were eating the ice cream I was sitting down and it was a bit uncomfortable so I leaned over on my elbow a bit out of her veiw. She grabbed me and pulled me up. ;) . A few minutes later I was again uncomfortable so I went down on my elbow. She pulled me up and stared at me with no expression like "your disobeying me. Better not do it again.". The kid cracks me up.

Blessings

Ah yes, I know the feeling well... very well. Too well.

My reaction to this feeling is fear, because I know I cannot keep them from evil myself.

And why I hesitate to trust in the Lord, because I know that before I obtain my little spot in heaven (in the shadow of the magnus JP the Great!), I will have many more growing pains... Just as my children will suffer in growing up, as they HAVE to, before becoming men and woman. I fear for them, because I know it is not easy.

Hence my sig, because I think of them always - especially when I am apart from them. So that the Lord walk with them, where I cannot, so that regardless the pains that find them, they will be safe.

My former sig has the motto "The path to salvation is a path of suffering.". It is a intrisic part of Catholic life to accept suffering, as Christ did... He who follows Me, let him carry his cross.
