Kilroy the Ninja
From an English teachers point of view, the books are technically technically poorly written. Ms. Rowlings would have been given an "A" for imagination and an "F" for the actual mechanics of her writing. But again, that is an agrument for another time. Brother Adam
Actually, the books are techinically very poorly written. People are simply excited because children especially like to read them, and anything children will clamor to read must be good. But that is an agrument for another time.
Actually, Lord of the Rings breaks about every technical writing skill known. But no one is about to say that Lord of the Rings is carp. Following technical writing skills isn't everything. It's more about telling a story. And Rowling does that, and not a half bad job. Not great either, and I hate the dark thematic elements, but they aren't awful.

Noel's angel
i suppose that whole genre isn't really my taste-also there is too much 'someone goes here, then he goes there' it just didn't do anything for me-i got bored
Brother Adam
lol, yes, patience is a lost virtue today. Did you see the movies? Perhaps they can help get you into the spirit.
Noel's angel
yeah-didn't like them either. I just think its one of those things you either love or hate-like Marmite or Cliff Richard
iggy
but the movies are not nearly as good as the books. it is almost like you watch the movie so you can complain about what was better/ existed in the book
