Good Friday
Let us know how it goes with your priest. I'm sorry it was such a bad experience. You must have been really angry if your mom said she would go with him. Wow. Not only angry, but very upset, almost to the point of tears. They're so anti-Catholic. But besides being anti-Catholic, they're anti-everyone. They're so venemous in their attacks upon Catholics especially, but also upon Methodists, Presbyterians, Baptists, and everyone else. Besides the blasphemies and sacrileges they commit, they also commit massive sins against charity by being so hateful toward those of other denominations and religions. I'm totally unaccustomed to that. Even though, as a Catholic, I believe that the Church has and is the embodiment of the fullness of Truth -- I don't hate those of other denominations and religions, nor do I make venemous comments about them. Rather, we should love them, and in loving them try to show them the Gospel of Jesus Christ -- a Gospel that has nothing to do with hatred or venom. At one point in the sermon, the pastor called the Protestant denominations the "daughters of Rome." I was so sickened. He was just one step away from likening the Church to Babylon and pagan Rome, at which point I would have walked out regardless of the effect it would have had on anyone. Thankfully, he never said it. But the sermon was disgusting nevertheless. Anyway, thank you all for your support and encouragement. I called my priest today, and I'll be going to Confession on Wednesday evening.
