Do you mind if i aska question about confession? By all means, i believe in confessing your sins to be forgiven but why do you have to go to a priest instead of going straight to the Father himself? I do want to understand. Please share with me the reasons behind the Sacrament of Confession. Thank you in adance.

Desiring More, there are a few answers I like to give out. The priest is known as Christ here on earth, so confessing our sins to a priest, is confessing our sins to a priest. The priest is an ordained minister of God, meaning that he is in Christ himself, when he says, during the Consecration, Take this all of you and eat it...etc..., the priest is Christ, doing it in memory of Jesus, whom the priest is at that moment.

Secondly in James, Jesus says, Confess our sins, to one another, and then your heavenly father will forgive you, if they grant you forgivness. So basically, in the body the priest isn't Christ, but yet in his Soul during confession he is Christ. So we confess our sins, because Jesus told us, to confess to each other, and God will forgive us, so that is what we do, what God is telling us to do!
