traichuoi
this has always angered me too...usually priests will talk generally about it in the homilies but this is a direct hit to holding Catholic politicians accountable! amesome!
Dave
Yes!!!! It's about time the bishops came together to give these pro-death "Catholic" politicians a kick in the butt!!!! :D
Anna
We are the salt of the earth. What good is salt, if it loses its savor? You don't hide a lamb under a basket. Great to see that the Church will hold the Truth high, and hold Catholic politicians to the TRUTH!!!

Ekilharas
Excuse me folks, but the way I read this article, it doesn't say they are going to do anything about it, just maybe talk about some possible guidelines. There isn't even a set time table to do that. Sounds more like the politicians than the politicians.???? Maybe they need to hear more from us???? Blessings, Nell
Aloysius
You don't hide a lamb under a basket. lol... i guess your right, i don't ever remember hiding lamb under a basket... but i think you meant lamp B)
Kilroy the Ninja
Well you're absolutely right. Both sides need to hear more from us. Particularly the politicians. Challenge them when they say they're Catholic but are pro-choice. Tell them they can't have it both ways. Then DON'T VOTE FOR THEM. The Church walks a fine line politically because it has to do with taxes. It's my understanding, and please correct me if I'm wrong, that the Church cannot endorse political candidates because doing so may jeopardize the non-taxable status of the Church in this country. But certainly I believe that the Church is well within it's rights to police it's own members - particularly those publically claiming membership - and chastizing, and sanctioning those who go directly against Church teachings. Lounge Daddy
So, is our local Catholic Church flexing what muscle it can? Heck yes… and I will flex mine with it, in any way I can. Start writing your local politicians, Phatmassers. B) It begins
M.SIGGA
The loudest pro-choice folks in America are Catholics or former Catholics both in Hollywood and in Washington - I don't see what has been taking the Church so long to say something? By the way, they need to quit taking their endorsements too - Arnold Swartzeneger and Maria Shriver were the biggest donors to the new L.A. Cathedral and he's pro-choice and she is even more pro-choice.
Dave
Can everyone PLEASE stop calling supporting abortion being pro-choice?! The proper words are pro-abortion, pro-death, or pro-murder.
Spiritual_Arsonist
Either you are pro-death or anti-death, or anti-life or pro-life. There is never two pros in a situation. If there is, someone is afraid of the truth. We know who those people are.
