That might work. I'm not sure. Farming really isn't my area of expertise. I just know that the soil can become barren after awhile.

You can rotate the species you plant in a field to keep it fertile. Peanuts do a fairly good job of replenishing the soil, or so I hear.

severance of growing crops - ferae naturae - oh, terms I haven't thought about in so long it hurts to try and remember them!!

The REAL problem is cost.

Now, I've never actually met you so I can't 100% say it's impossible.... but...

Kansai Airport in Japan is an artificial island. It's only 4 km square. Which is enough space for about... 3-5 families to live on (that is if they grow their own food etc)

It cost 15 BILLION dollars.

I've heard about that. According to one of my friends in High School, until a few second before you land all you can see out your window is water below the plane. kinda scary.
