SarahB
Just thought I'd share THIS with you. So far, with about 92 percent of the vote counted it's 56% to 44%(I rounded the numbers, by the way). Ironmonk, I know you post a lot of stuff about the mark of the beast and all that....do you think the EU is a sign of the endtimes, and if you do, what do you think France's rejection of the constitution means? Just curious.

Thy Geekdom Come
Desmond Birch, a famous, orthodox Catholic theologian, used tons of quotes by mystical saints and wrote a book about the endtimes. He says that it seems from the mystics that a virtuous ruler from France would lead to the end of the world. *shrugs*

I'm not saying I believe it's going to happen tonight, or tomorrow or next week or next year, etc. But it's going to come like a thief in the night and it could happen at any time. Personally, I think it'll be awhile longer, and the world is going to get worse, but we're well on our way.

I think that was a silly pipe dream.

Aloysius
I'd like it better if it was more for the right reasons... to an extent it's because they want it to be more socialist.

If the UK or Ireland had said No we could have been ignored but not France. At least it puts this silly thing to the dirt...

But Tony Blair would have just kept having referenda until he eventually got a Yes vote 'cause he's a coward
Probably, until either Brown kicks him to the kerb and enforces it on us without a referendum (which is legally possible) or the Tories come back in. Blair has to be seen to try, he's waiting to become the President of Europe when he leaves 10 Downing Street..
