Skirts are fun to wear once in a while. Sadly, they're not all that practical when you're moving around, trudging around campus, climbing stairs, running through snow banks... That and I look mighty silly wearing sneakers wtih skirts. I can't go wearing dress shoes every day! :P

Pants themselves aren't the devil, but shopping for them are! I primarily get all my clothes from thrift stores, and I hate the way that womens' pants are made/sized. Many times I just about swore them off and promised myself I'd only buy guy pants. But they'd still be ill-fitting...
Ah...I'm in California. We have no bad weather. In addition, it is considered perfectly acceptable to wear tennis shoes or sandals with ANYTHING. Just don't forget your sunglasses...
NO, no no no no...

That is not what I mean. I went to my senior prom with one of my best guy friends who is like my brother. He would have gotten a kick out of it. However, I'm from Minnesota, and I am happy to say I have a wonderful boyfriend who I am promised too. God willing someday to be married. I didn't mean anything like that at all. I just wanted to cause a stir in my school.

God bless-

Oh not what I meant. I meant that in California you'd have to show up naked to cause a stir, and that might not even do it. We have so many weird things going on that it's impossible to stand out.

"Oh look...a girl with a mohawk wearing a suit and tie..."

"Big deal..."
Well, except the gross hair but you can shave that.
oh, man. that would be soo much worse... a man without leg hair? ug.

I have always heard women are colder than men because as soon as they get cold, their body transfers heat to the core to protect the womb... any truth?

The tabs on the uniforms in the military are getting even easier for some women... i have seen some that instead of the velco fastening in the back, there is a piece that velcros under the collar just out of sight, for a nice look. I also find BDUs very comfy.

I personally have been made fun of for going out in a blizzard in a wool skirt and snow boots, carrying pizzas (i was coming back from a math club meeting)
No.

I think it's weird that everyone accepts gender norms in our society.

I think it's funny that Micah defends them as natural and then wants to wear what amounts to a dress for priests.

I think pants are of the devil because of what they have societally represented to me.
Gender norms are a healthy and natural part of any society.

Every human civilization and culture has well-defined roles for men and for women, which also includes the kind of clothes worn by members of each sex.
(The fact that there is a movement against gender roles in our present culture is a sign of the sickness of our present culture.)

Exactly what kind of clothes are considered masculine or feminine varies from culture to culture and through history, though in each culture these clothes are well-defined.
For instance, a Scottish Kilt is not modeled after a female skirt, and traditional Scottish men's clothes are different from the traditionaly Scottish female clothes.
A Scott would take offense at the sugestion that his kilt was feminine.
Likewise with cassocks and other litugical vestmests. They are not the same as female clothes.

There is nothing weird about different gender roles and "gender-differentiated" clothes at all. If they were "weird," they would not be the norm in every human culture.

No normal man desires to dress like a woman (This is true only of drag queens and men who are sexually aroused by wearing women's clothing, or those with other disorders).
Most women prefer to wear women's clothing, and most men find women more attractive in women's clothes (which are designed to accentuate thier feminity.)

Gender roles and the correponding clothes what is normal in society, and Kizlar/Sparithossa's "gender issues" do not negate what is normal.
Women don't have to wear neckties. That is about the silliest invention ever.

And it doesn't even help keep you warm!!
I think that in the future, perhaps in the 22nd century, people will look back at the necktie and laugh.

Three pages of women raging against pants. (Still don't get it) and three entries from guys about ties. That cracks me up.
oh, man. that would be soo much worse... a man without leg hair? ug.
I had to shave my legs once. It was based on a silly promise that I got caught on. It took three razors and when I was done, I was very happy men didn't wear skirts as a cultural norm. It was pretty funny!!

Whenever I get money, I spend it on either, clothes, shoes, or makeup. I, personally, am all for dressing for one's respective sex. I wouldn't want to dress the same way a guy does. If modesty is the issue, you can still dress like a girl and dress modestly. o_o

women look nice in dresses. They can look nice in pants...but never as good as a nice calf length dress.

Ha! More proof that pants are the devil and that men prefer women in actual female clothing.

I think everybody should stop fussing and simply wear a decent pair of blue jeans, and a nice shirt.
Anything else is simply vanity. :D
