melporcristo
I loooooovvvveeee playing guitar!!! I've been playing for about 6-7 years. But of course, I am a punk rocker at heart so I learned a lot of punk like Ramones, Green Day, and then ska like the Mad Caddies, Less Than Jake, then back to grunge like Nirvana and then pop punk like Blink ... yeah I totally wanted to be in a punk band when I was a young chica. Then I started playing at Mass and I really think as much as I love playing P&W, it made me smell of elderberries at guitar because the chords are so easy! But then I was inspired by Dan, the lead singer of Seven Sorrows. No joke -- his style is awesome because it's a little bit of emo, mixed with hardcore. As for the humidifier thing, my friend uses a potato! (I'm from idaho, they are hecka easy to come across) And I totally agree with buying a good guitar as your first; just take good care of it and make sure if you fly the airport doesn't drop it and leave the body all smashed up like my first!!! (I know, I was young and dumb)
Noel's angel
LOL. It's great to hear so many people who are passionate about music and aren't stuck up about their talent. Musicians can be very elitest sometimes, but everyone here just seems to have a genuine love for music, it is great

Guest Aislyn777
My dad started playing guitar when he was about 10, and his brother used to teach him. When he was about 16 his brother was killed in a air plane accident, when he was in the air force. My dad has been playing ever since and he still has his brothers guitar and is now teaching me. Him and my mom used to play when they were teenagers. He is quite the musician. I have been playing for over a year and a half now, and im getting pretty good. The best advice is just to keep practicing, and even if you start off sounding horrible, which is expected, god appriciates your praise through song and worship no matter what is sounds like! which in my case, was a blessing so all of you who are playing or starting to play, keep practicing and it will just all of a sudden one day, just click. Noel's angel
great!!! Keep it up! The way I learn new chords is that I find a song with chords in it that I know already, but maybe 2 or 3 that I don't, then I learn how to play it-that way you are not only learning a new chord, but learning how to switch from chord to chord AND learning a new song at the same time- it might not work for everyone, like at the beginning it doesn't really work 'cause you only know a couple of chords and you need to learn the basics first, but once you get that, I find this is a good way of learning new ones
