Noel's Angel

Sometimes I get a bit snobby about guitars. If you like it and you play it, God bless you!!

PS Paul who?

Incidentally to finish up my Ovation rant.

The Ovation company originally made helicopter blades for the military. Then they decided to build "lute backed " guitars.

Hence the helicopter blade reference earlier

Paul Simon-my hero :)

Yeah, I suppose whatever works for you. I think sometimes if you are really passionate about something, you can seem snobbish about it, but it is just 'cause you know a lot about it and love it, so don't worry :D

I've been playing for a couple years. Well, I got my first crappy beginner's one two Christmases ago. And I'm really enjoying it! I've written a couple songs and quite a few tunes. A few months ago, I got a takamine... my baby. I have an Aria electric guitar, too, and a few accessories. I use a lot of tablature and play a lot of the classic rock tunes as well as some of the newer Christian stuff. And then other random things that I feel like playing... and thats all the guitarist profile I can come up with.

Takamine are cool. I mostly play Paul Simon stuff, but some of it is pretty difficult, especially as he tunes his guitar like half a tone lower or something, it gets annoying when you are trying to figure out chords and stuff

yeah, I hate it when people play with wierd tunings, lol. I'll always end up playing it when it's tuned regular and hope I can sing it a half-step higher or w/e lol. I mean, sheesh. Who thinks to tune the guitar wierd when they're writing music? :P

lol, i know! I just change the tuning but its annoying when you are trying to play along with the recording...

I love playing with alternate tunings... It opens up limitless possibilities and can keep a new song from sounding like it's already been written.

I spent a year learning Michael Hedges stuff. I had to buy a new guitar to keep in his tuning. It was a lot of fun.

Love Paul Simon. I saw S & G in their reunion concert in 83. That was a little slice of history.

i love playing guitar so much!!! it is such a blessing!!! i have been playing since 6th grade...so for almost 11 years now...the 10th year is about to end. sadly, i never took lessons so i am not half as good as i should be. in fact, not really that great but i can keep up with some people. if you think i must be great for playing so long, just ask "incircles" and "incircles' brother"...they'll set you straight!!! :D in fact, i am playing with them tonight!!! i'll post a pic of my guitar in a minute
