Let's remember that not all fat people are fat due to eating fast food. There are other reasons people can be fat as well, such as health issues like thyroid problems.

Assuming all fat people are fat becaue they eat fast food? Talk about judging.
I think most people lack good exercise habits and that's what causes them to be obese. Exercise raises your rest metabolic rate not to mention your metabolic rates while you're exercising and immediately after. I lost 15 pounds in 3 weeks last summer just from running everyday and I was eating a good bit still (albeit not junk food).

I understand where you are coming from, but most overweight people are fat because they do not get enough exercise and eat to much.

There is a law of conservation of matter. The portions that they give at all restaurants are way to much food than what we actually need. Our plates are too big. etc...

The sins of gluttony and sloth have crept up on Americans from behind and has taken hold of many of us.

There are few people who actually have thyroid issues compared to how many overweight people there are.

I've chunked up due to working at a PC and I know I eat to much for the job I have and slowly I'm cutting back and I've been working out regularly again. Gluttony and sloth are sins that we do not think of often enough... We should remember this the next time we eat out at a Chili's, Outback, McDonald's, Taco Bell, etc...

I know how the body works and why many people are overweight. Regardless, that is not the case for all overweight people and I think it's unfair to make a general sweeping assumption.

Crusader mentioned that heavier people should be taxed because they are a burden on the health system. That's not the case for all overweight people. I personally, could use to lose about 20 pounds, yet I'm not a burden on the health system at all. I exercise regularly, eat pretty well, my blood pressure is low, cholesterol level is normal, etc. I think being taxed more because I'm overweight is ridiculous. Sorry crusader, but that idea just blows my mind.

I think it's pretty sad how many people on this thread have just assumed that people are only overweight because they are eating fast food.
