Actually Cinco de Mayo is NOT an occassion for Catholics to celebrate.

As I recall, the Catholics were the ones defeated.
We just pick a day and go. Ours is tomorrow, but I'm stuck doing an AP test.
That's what we did...but I didn't go...they had all of those kids ticketed.

Stupid kids..."Hey everybody, I've got an ingenious idea! Let's all skip school and convene in one public, family-friendly place and be ridiculously abnoxious!"

In addition to being 5:05 on 05/05/05, it is also Thursday... The fifth day of the week... That only happens once every 7,000 years....

You mean this isn't the true story?

The "Titanic" was carrying 75,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery to Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after New York City. The Mexican people were eagerly awaiting delivery and were very disconsolate at the loss. So much so that they declared a national day of mourning that they still observe today.

It is known as Sinko de Mayo.
