Matt Black
Quote from another Christian website:- "The fundamentalist world is agog with rumors that Jack and Rexella Van Impe are contemplating converting to Catholicism. Who's next? Tammy Fay Bakker? Ernest Angley?" Anyone else heard this or know anything about it? Yours in Christ Matt
Gal. 5:22,23
Where did you hear that? I've caught him quoting from the Catechism a few times on his show. He has nice things to say about the Church. However, his fervent belief in the rapture wouldn't go over too well there!
Guest Eremite
No, he's not converting (at least he has given no indication that he is). He simply loves Catholics (he had a big conversion like 25 years ago after hearing a bunch of anti-Catholics referring to Catholics as "Papist Rats"). My first step to conversion was accepting that Catholics were not evil. Then I realized that if Catholics were not evil, then there must be something to them. Then the Holy Spirit took over. Sounds to me like God might be calling him home. Who knows?
Matt Black
I've asked the website concerned for a source. I think he was raised a Catholic, wasn't he? Yours in Christ Matt
thessalonian
I posted this on Open MIC earlier this morning. http://phorum.phatmass.com/index.php?showtopic=33130 I am pretty sure it's true. I believe he anounced it on his Apr. 23 program but can't hear the audio at work. I'll get the link to that show and perhaps someone can listen and tell us. Be right back. geo
Just finished watching the April 23 show, and they don't say they are converting, but they do talk about loving Catholics, and the belief of the church that Christ will come again. THey speak a lot about their love of Pope Benedict XVI. There is a big difference between loving Catholics, and becoming one. We can pray that they come home to the Church, but that's up to God. desertwoman
I liked it when he said early on that people had no right to call JPII evil or the anitchrist. Here is a man professing the love of Christ, the death, burial, and resurrection, and people have the gaul to say anything evil about need to check themselves thouroughly.
