Blasphemy In Music

I'm pretty sure Dave Mathews supports abortion. I remember learning that a while back, and have stopped listening to him ever since.

Thank you for opening my eyes, bro...

I no longer support DMB...

Unfortuneatly, blasphemous lyrics will always be a problem in hip hop. Too bad. Some of those artists voices and music are just maad. That's why we have the Phatmass compilation: to jam to message that's really worth it. These rappers are not rapping about Jesus because they hafto. They're doingso because honestly, there is nothing better to rap about. 4 shizzle. B)

Well, I didn't read ALL the posts, but I know what's going on. Not only the blasphemy, but the overall message music artists send out seems to be taken too seriously. You should realize that 90 percent of what most of them sing about is totally irrelevant. I'm a big fan of Rob Zombie, but you can trust me when I say he is not a Satanist. Neither am I, although many of the people who enjoy that same taste of music probably are. But I am also a big fan of groups like Creed. Now I'm not THAT big on religion, but that's a lot of what they sing about. What I am saying is: my taste for music does not reflect my personal beliefs, and it does not influence them, either. I think these artists are just writing down random thoughts, thoughts about life, and translating it into music. Now, back on blasphemy, if they feel they need to express their anger that way, so be it. Many of these people have had troubled lives, and if no one can explain to them all the answers, they obviously feel the need to express themselves to the full extent.

I understand what you're saying...However, what you listen to DEFINITELY has an impact on YOU...

The reason I threw out my CDs that glorified hate in some form or another isn't because they led me to commit the same offenses such as drug use, demoralizing of women, blastin' guns, adultery, glorification of money, etc...

The reason I threw out my CDs that contained these types of things was because the content desensitized me to the realities of how WRONG and DEGRATING most of these famous people are in their lyrics...

I didn't see anything really wrong with what these "musicians" really talked about. And, THIS is the BIGGEST trap of this type of music.

Before you say that you're not influenced by what you subject your mind and spirit to DAILY, think again...you'd be surprised...

Oh, one more thing - why support someone, by purchasing their CD or listening to their music, who glorifies evil? I cannot POSSIBLY understand.

You are what you eat… and listen to. We must always pay attention to what enters our minds, to guard our minds from being poisoned.

Ya, I do not want to pay some fool to preach what is wicked… no, thanx. These misguided folks do not deserve my support. B)

To listen to their music is like to drop a “yes” vote on tem. No, I will not do that.
