[/quote] NAB - New American Bible RSV-CE - Revised Standard Version, Catholic Edition (Ignatius Bible) The RSV-CE is considered by many scholars to be the best English translation of the Bible. I use the Douay-Rheims which is the English translation of the Latin Vulgate. Lots of "thees" and "thous".

Brother Adam
lol. I need the NAB as most classes require us to use it, and I prefer to use the NAB for personal devotion because the liturgical celebrations in the Church use the NAB. I have two copies of the NAB but they are paperback and they wouldn't survive 6 months. I also have the NIV, KJV, NKJV, ESV, CEV, RSV, NRSV Confraternity, Navarre, and other editions I can't think of off the top of my head lol. theculturewarrior
If you're studying theology, I think RSV-CE is the standard. NAB is nice too, especially the older translations. I used to swear by the DRV but for a poetic (but not Catholic) translation I like the Millenium Bible.

I mean, I'm not REd, but most of my classes just recommend the NAB (which, I have one)-- but usually use the Douay or Ignatius Study Bible.
