Any boy who does this is almost a complete homosexual.

Think about it, music is a way for people to release frustrations, whether its metal or emo, Its a way to release anger. Im glad they do it, because if they didnt, that kid in class that you know to be quiet never talks and dresses "emo" could one day just snap and all h3)( would break loose.
Better these people release their anger in a way they feel fit for them. let them do what they want, they arent causing you mental harm except maybe complaining about them on a phorum.

As yall all know I listen to emo, but thats not all i listen to, i listen to Death Metal as well. and there is a good Christian Death Metal band in my area.

And to go back to a question on this thread, there is style but music genre fashions are just another way to pin stereotypes to yourself. Ive never seen such an emo kid dress in Death Metal clothes.

Oh your insisting i listen to all this music cause people tell me its cool. well your wrong i listen to it cause i like it.

we have countless number of people on this site, and i dont think they are here solely for the hip hop. I am sure there is at least one person here for each music genre there is.

I thought we were supposed to be kind to each other, i only spoke out when some music i enjoy was put down, i never voiced my opinions on other music, and dont plan to.

although this is great soo many of us have been able to share our opinions and thoughts--lets also be considerate as well.

there is nothing wrong with listening to emo music, its a type of music when it comes down to it.

so lets not be too stereotypical about all this and overdo it now shall we? :nerd:

i grew up listening to rap. i would love for these "emo" groups to get their tour bus stuck in compton in the early 90's in front of N.W.A.'s studio.
So, if I asked you, what are one or two albums that I could definitely to which I could definitely give a listen which would be straight up, quintessential emo, what would you suggest, corban?
i don't know if i could bring it down to two...hmm...i brought it down in my mind to my four favorite, definitely emo albums...hehe. k, that sounded really dumb but here they are.

1.) End Serenading--Mineral
2.) The Power of Failing--Mineral
3.) Diary--Sunny Day Real Estate
4.) Four Minute Mile--the get up kids

all 4 of those are excellent cd's...in my opinion, the very best that have ever been put out in the emo scene. if i had to pick two, i guess i would say either of the ones by Mineral and Diary by Sunny Day Real Estate. But Mineral could be hard to find so I would say go with Four Minute Mile by the get up kids.

for anyone who truly cares about the history of emo music...here is a website that defines and traces the history of the developments of emo music. i will say beforehand that some of this website is just wrong. a few of the bands on it are not emo, but for the most part it is very accurate. the bands that i am classifying as "emo" are just about all in the "phase four: post emo indie rock" section on that website. but i will say that these bands are the ones who have truly made emo what it was and have the lasting influence on the bands now who claim emo influence. these are the ones who brought the music out to a much wider audience and helped to make it popular.

Thanks, corban. I'll check those out when I get a chance. I suspect that what I dislike, what makes me sick is not really emo, but just pop rock. But we'll see...
