Antonius
1. Stands for "Estrogen Masculine Output". The masculine form of the word "PMS". 2. Typical crappy teen poetry that somehow leaked it's disgusting filth into our radios. Basically the "Rock Version" of Country Music, in the sense that it all sounds the same, the "singer" puts on an unbearable, nasally, fake-sounding voice whilest all lyrics are just whines about some girl who left him. Stands for "Experienced Musicians Omitted". "Wah. My g/f left me. She said she wanted a real man. I'm gunna go cry and write a song about it." -Any EMO boy that ever existed.
HAHA! Amen, Brother! You've got it down. Somebody needs to tell those "emotional" rockers that if they care so much about losing a girlfriend that they'll write 3 albums about it, they should just find another girlfriend and be done with it! Ach.... I detest it. I hate the way every new rocker has the same style. Some lyrics are more intelligent than others, but they all dress, play guitar, and sing the same way. They call their music "emotional" like other forms of music aren't. Ok, so they're breaking away from punk to be more like country or mainstream rock. Sad... How the record companies and radio stations play carp aimed at the uncultured, uneducated populace... So sad. (Steps off soap box.) I love a great many genres of music, but.... LONG LIVE METAL! :headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang:

corban711
jimmy eat world is not emo now...but if you listen to their earlier stuff, they certainly were. they were one of the bands that really helped the emo scene start to grow and expand to different areas. now, people call almost anything emo which is lame really. but bands like sunny day real estate, mineral, the get up kids (at least their older stuff), texas is the reason, elliott, the killingtons, the promise ring...those are emo bands. most of these bands many of you probably haven't heard, but these are some of the ones that really made the music and influenced the bands that are now getting quite popular and are labeled emo. but many of the bands that are called emo now have a much different sound than some of the original ones because people call anything emo now. they'll say...the starting line=emo. thursday=emo. i've even seen yellowcard and the ataris called emo. all of these bands are influenced by emo, but none of them are. picchick
ok I know all this about Emo: 1. It means emotional. 2. It is like rock but has alot of emotion in it. Some questions that remain unanswered: WARNING: POSSIBLE TRIGGER... 1. Doesn't all music have emotion in it? Can someone give an example of this music so that I can hear it? Is My Chemical Romance a Emo band? I thought that Dashboard was punk rock. So what is the difference between punk and emo? 2. Why is it on all the xanga sites of "emo girls/boys" boys have long hair, are bisexual, and wear girl pants? 3. Also it seems to be a trend that "emo people" cut as a fashion statement. I don't get this. So what is this emo fashion statement? It is not only the music but it is like a movement and that is what remains unanswered for me.
