Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
I have read and heard that at confession, the penante must confess his/her most wicked sins first and then confess their least wicked sins last. is this true? i thought all mortal sins were the same in the eyes of God? thanks yours in Christ, Sam
Cam42
Sam... As Catholics, we are only required to confess our Mortal Sins, however, it is always good to just confess everything. So, in my own instance of going to Confession, I always confess my most heinous sins first. I go every Thursday, so I may or may not have a mortal sin to confess, but when I do, I always confess them first. I can tell you that the more you go, the less there is to confess, on the whole.....however, there are times.....YIKES!!!! And are there sins that are worse than others? Yes. The worst being blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. That is the only unforgivable sin. But there are others that are not good. I would suggest that you consult the Catechism of the Catholic Church. I am not going to do all of your homework for you. But it is there, I would suggest starting in the index with sin. God Bless, Cam
