toledo_jesus
If they don't like it, they can join the Anglian Church.
no, they'll still call themselves Catholic. The American Catholic Church. Hopefully, Rome will say "Well, get off'n our property, build your own buildings, attract your own followers and have a good life." Then we'll have more priests to go around! You see, the solution to the priest shortage isn't to let women become priests, or let the priests marry! It is to simply chase out the kooks so they don't hold the rest of us up in the Communion line. I advocate making them VERY uncomfortable so they'll leave, or shape up. either or. Ash Wednesday
Is this the same uberliberal American Catholic Church as http://www.geocities.com/WestHollywood/4136/? I've yet to hear how these guys regard the pope. If they do not assent to the magisterium or the pope's teachings as an organization, then I don't see how they could possibly be in communion with Rome, and shouldn't be recognized as such. argent_paladin
If you ever get mad thinking about them, just imagine being with them when they hear the news that Ratziner is the new pope. I think there will be many unhappy Futurechurchers very soon. They might be even more unhappy with, say, Schonborn, who would never think of ordaining women and is only 60 and so has decades left, God willing. Norseman82
One person called for a trade with the Anglicans: our dissidents in exchange for the Anglicans who basically hold Catholic beliefs.
