jezic
Life is not so swell for many people on here. Understand that now and you will save a heartbreak later. As for your situation, can anyone really understand? To you it means something completely different than to us. Your actions are your own and who would judge you for them? If they are without sin then let them judge. Jesus said that. THere wasn't anyone to condemn the person. In the same way you are not condemned. All that needs to happen is you do the best with what you have. Jesus has blessed you, you were given the strength to live the day, to have the possbility of changing someone's life. What are you doing with the time given to you? This prolly stands as a lesson to us all.
Anna
((((ricky))) hey. Hi. I gotta admit, I don't understand you and I think you don't understand others here. We may go around saying "God is soooooo good" and "God has blessed me so much!" And that makes you think we have it easy and cushy, but maybe it's just because He has seen us through some of the worst times imagineable. We give HIM all the credit, all the glory, cuz we realize it's only because of Him that we got this far. I see you've had a rough go of it too, so instead of starting a thread about how much God hates you! UGH! THAT IS SO IMPOSSIBLE, for God to Hate anyone, much less you! Why not take a second look at your life and realize that all this time, even before you knew God, HE was drawing you to Himself? He was loving you, watching over you, weeping with you, and just hoping that you would somehow, some day, turn your life over to Him. Don't be ungrateful to Him. He is the One responsible for bringing you this far, and He will lift you up, if only you work with Him on this! Don't give up on God. Believe me, God is still working in all our lives. All the time, we are challenged to put all our trust in Him. We make the mistakes, God keeps picking us back up and putting us on the right track. Same with you, dear little brother. That's why He is GOD, and we are all sinners. Glad to see you posting here.
Mateo el Feo
Ricky? What no one says here about life, about God, about grace, about the Cross... none of it will change a thing...(clip)...But it's up to YOU brother to make the changes, carpe diem, seize the day!
I may misunderstand this statement, but the wording makes it sound like the choices are "either God's grace or carpe diem." For me, it is both. I just wanted to share a couple verses that have helped me in my own struggles: Hebrews 12:1-14 Colossians 1:24 As Divine Providence would have it, I stumbled across this passage today while reading some Letters of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. This letter, written in 1532, was to a woman in Barcelona, Isabel Roser.
In your second letter you tell me of your long-drawn-out pain in the illness you have undergone and of the great stomach pains that sill remain. Indeed I cannot help feeling the liveliest sympathy with you in your sufferings, seeing that I desire every imaginable happiness and prosperity for you, provided it will help you to glorify God our Lord. And yet when we reflect, these infirmities and other temporal privations are often seen to be from God's hand to help us to a better self-knowledge and to rid ourselves of the love of created things. They help us moreover to focus our thought on the brevity of this life, so as to prepare for the other which has no end. When I think that in these afflictions He visits those whom He loves, I can feel no sadness or pain, because I realize that a sevant of God, through an illness, turns out to be something of a doctor for the direction and ordering of his life to God's glory and service.
This may just reiterate some of the thoughts of previous posters, including Phazzan's statement: "you're suffering will make you a stronger person." But, I thought it was worth mentioning.
jasJis
rck, God doesn't hate you. You know that life smells of elderberries for others as well. Met a woman last Sunday when I went to Mass to pray for you. She works in the Bloodmobile that comes to my Church every 2 months. She's Baptist. Short version: Her 15 year old neice was kidnapped and killed 1 month after she spent a year with the woman then returned home. During that time, woman found she had uterine cancer and her new husband (#2) left her. During this, her 1st husband whom she has plenty of contact with since he's the father of her 2 teen kids, was diagnosed with a kidney disease. During this her teen daughter was diagnosed with a brain disease and has had two operations to remove tumors. We talked about God and His faithfullness. She told me she is grateful for what she has. She has 2 kids she loves and cand do stuff for. She is grateful that she can do stuff for her ex-husband to help him and show her kids they are children of love. She is grateful that she doesn't hate her 2nd ex-husband and can show her children forgiveness. Toughen up. We're all fighting hellish battles. We will win the war if we are humble enough to accept the Victory Jesus won for us and humble enough to join our stuggle with his. God is with you now. He is closer than your very breath. He will not abandon you, but suffers with you. He knows the battles you wage, the victories, the defeats. He will never leave your side. Fight on, brother! picchick
Although I only understand you a little bit, you also have to meet us halfway and come to understand us too. We can't fall into this rut and say "my life is worse than yours". Life is not fair. But I heard that God will not give us more then we can handle right? Then fairness or goodness is an individual measure. Am I wrong?

photosynthesis
...and im sure everyone had a perfect cozy slumber last night in thier perfect home with thier perfect family in thier perfectly "righteous" lives.....
I get really down on myself a lot because I didn't have a perfect ultra-Catholic family with 12 years of Catholic school, with no problems. I didn't know God until I was an adult as well... It's not easy... As Fr. Stan Fortuna says, "everybody's gotta suffer." but in Christ, we don't need to have shame about the past, or worry about the future. Even "good Christians" fall into sin. Sometimes grave, mortal sin. Jesus is right there with you in all of your suffering. He's been there. In Christ, we are made righteous. Righteousness isn't about having a bed to sleep in, or going to school, or financial "success." Righteousness is about faith in Christ, which is something anyone can have. Donna
Well, it's hard, and can feel like God hates one, when one is pummelled repeatedly. About every Catholic I know who's trying to practice the Faith is going through anguishing trials. And, like there's no solution, and what's being asked is IMPOSSIBLE, humanly speaking....and somehow one can get through, and beyond. But it can feel like one will lose their mind and heart and life, and them ain't illusions. This is the cross! Like giving birth, there's no Jesus, no Mary, no nothing anymore. You can take all the classes and preparation and prayers and know the birthing process inside out, but when it comes, there'll usually be some moment where there is no control whatsoever. The DEEDS to prepare were so painstaking and the heart was all the way into thoroughly doing them, but the SITUATION does not match them. Fr. Ruetler said that Jesus had to take humanity's place, and had to utter "My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" because that is the one particularly taboo thing man does do in the recess of his heart (and it may come out real sideways) but should not. You sound normal, Ricky.
franciscanheart
Ricky? What no one says here about life, about God, about grace, about the Cross... none of it will change a thing. You know where you're truly at, and no one here will ever fully appreciate that. But it's up to YOU brother to make the changes, carpe diem, seize the day!. You may not realise it now, but you're suffering will make you a stronger person. So don't let people get you down, chin up, stand tall and take this fight head on. Just believe in yourself.
Can someone explain this to me? I think I don't understand or something.
Well no amount of praying, Jesus babble, Rosary threads, and religious edification will solve rckllnknny's problems. God will help him deal with them, but it's up to him to overcome them. Seize the day; live for today and not yesterday.
