Aloysius
they're saying they're being discriminated against by being "silenced" "closeted", i.e. not felling normal publically identifying themselves by this "orientation" publically identifying themself in this orientation is probably the worst thing they could be doing anyway though you gotta read between the lines with these people... yes we should oppose "discrimination" and such... but what they mean by this and what we mean is two different things. often, the faithful Catholic is forced out of both camps.. we can't join up with people that hate gays et cetera nor can we join up with people who try to not discriminate against them yeah.. anyway, i shouldn't discuss this... so I'm out. Noel's angel
*sniggers* I would participate in a day's silence if it was a worthy cause or something, but the 'cause' here to me seems a bit, erm, off....
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
At my school, people were forced to participate. This day is not about promoting respect for homosexuals or protection, but it is about forcing their lifestyle on us. They think they have every right to do so, well they don't. They may say it is about respect and protection, but the entire day is about the homosexual agenda, forcing their beliefs on us.
Tony
its sad.. when I 1st heard about this day of silence thing.. I t hought it was just a small handful doing it at these schools.. I didint know schools were enforcing this
Dreamweaver
Is it even legal for schools to enforce their students to do this? I always thought it was supposed to be a student led group (like a straight-gay alliance student group) that enacted it.
Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
its a private school, so they can do anything they want. Its a quaker school, that is for the Gay Agenda and the Abortion agenda, bleeding heart liberals. It smells of elderberries. We are one of the only middle schools in the state participating. FilmGuy127
a day of silence to promote people feeling normal about publically identifying themselves by some sort of sexual "orientation"..

they're saying they're being discriminated against by being "silenced" "closeted", i.e. not felling normal publically identifying themselves by this "orientation" publically identifying themself in this orientation is probably the worst thing they could be doing anyway though
Let me pose a question to you all then. What if instead of homosexuals holding a day about respect and the discrimination that keeps them from being open about their sexual orientation it was catholics who were in a society that discriminated against them and forced them to be secret about their beliefs? would you still be against such a day? There may be some variation in the agenda of the day among those who promote it, but it was created for the purpose mentioned by crusader and not as a promotion of a 'sinful' lifestyle or against marrage. As for being forced to participate, that is not right, but that doesnt mean that the day is bad on principle.
They may say it is about respect and protection, but the entire day is about the homosexual agenda, forcing their beliefs on us.
If I were you I would watch myself accusing people of forcing beliefs on others... cause you (the catholics of this site) are not exactly innocent as far as this goes.
