mmmerf
"Given that twinning can occur up to the 14th day of this process, it is not logically possible to talk of the conception of a unique human individual prior to the completion of this process."
Okay, then, if that's true (which is a huge if) then by that logic it may not be a single unique individual. It may be two unique individuals. Perhaps three or more. We don't know. By that rationale, it's okay to kill people as long as you don't know how many you're killing. This is not a teaching borne from prayerful reflection on the truth. This is a teaching based on pressure from the world. It is, in my opinion, a compromise with the prince of darkness, nothing less. It is a scandal, a gross offense to the body of Christ. Dave
Joseph
I could care less what the Anglican/Episcopal church has to say on any topic. It's all ignorance to me, from this to the fact that it is perfectly fine for a bishop of their church to be in an ongoing homosexual relationship. I'm surprised more people haven't left the Anglican/Episcopal church. Edited June 24, 2004 by Joseph
Aloysius
Ah, sorry to bump it but thought that summed Ironmonk up
we're called to be SALT of the earth, not sugar of the earth. Ironmonk is 100% justified in calling this EVIL from the Aglicans well, as i mentioned up there he actually made a typo and said evil from the Angelicans but anyway, i don't think anyone with an anglican background should take this personally. Ironmonk is telling it how it is, and anyone who is anglican now or who used to be anglican should oppose wholeheartedly this evil that is coming from within their church. the title is fine (except the typo ) IMHO
Crusader_4
Ironmonk my best friend is a very devout anglican and i know he would find offence to this. We share many of the same beliefs and i know he is against abortion and gay marriage and all these liberal ideas the Anglican Hierachy is seeming to be for these days so to say "More evil fomr the Angelicans" i find very offensive. There are other more charitable names we can use. However, good article to point out and make us aware of.

Aloysius
ppl drive me crazy. why is that so offensive! this is an evil idea. this came from the anglicans. it is evil from the anglicans. not ALL the anglicans, he clearly didn't mean for it to say that, simply that an evil idea has come out of the anglicans (in like, November) ppl are wierd. pAx

ICTHUS
And please ironmonk, do you have any gentleness of spirit for those of us from the anglican background? 'More evil from the anglicans' is such an upsetting title for a thread. Ellenita
OK I just have to respond to everyone who quoted from me in this thread! (Thanks IcePrincess for reopening the thread so that I can! ) First of all, it's an old thread....please read the date of my original post! Secondly, in case people haven't noticed, I was received into the Catholic church at the Easter Vigil this year......a decision which has, and continues to, fill me with great joy.... And finally, while I may have taken issue with the title of the thread because there are Anglicans who I know and care about - it was the generic nature of the title which I found upsetting - I would like to say that I have the utmost respect for IronMonk! His knowledge and firm stand on the teaching of the Catholic church has been an inspiration to me many times.....
