Benedict
Does anybody have any experience with the Dead Theologians Society? I came across their site earlier but there is not much to see. In particular, I wonder why their charter states that it is not to be a secret society or society of secrets and yet all the helpful information (saint studies, apologetics, etc) is behind a password. Phikoz
the password is for the Chapter leaders to get at the weekly information for their Chapter meeting. Every week we speak about saints and pray together, also sharing things about our weeks. that is pretty much it. it is a great program, i recomend it for any parish, it really helps youths get a deeper faith with other youths. i also made a website for our Chapter of the Dead Theologians Society. Jake Huether
Hey this looks pretty cool. I emailed the guy for info on what a Chapter meeting is like. I'm interested in this, because I feel called to teach teens, but I haven't found the right venue yet. This might be something to look into... God bless. Benedict
the password is for the Chapter leaders to get at the weekly information for their Chapter meeting. cmotherofpirl
They are not secret from the members. Maybe there are copywritten.

Phikoz
My question was why is that material (the apologetics and information about saints to be shared at the meetings) password-protected when the charter of the DTS specifically states that things should not be kept secret?
it is kept under password so that they can login to their account. sort of like an e-mail account for the leaders. it is good for organization, and then if you need more materials: hooded sweatshirts, chaplets, etc., you can do that from your account. if everyone had access to the materials there would be no reason to have a meeting every week since everyone would already know what they are going to talk about. kinda pointless. just think of it as an e-mail account. they arent trying to hide stuff, just trying to keep everything organized. also, leaders do have the liberty to have more power over stuff than the members. one more thing, usually members of a club online have more access to things than non-members, like a log-in to their account where they can recieve updates and they can post things. so this really shouldnt be so surprising.
