Seriously,
IF you think about look at the church in america. This is the train of thouht that I am coming from; when a church needs to be built in america, it should be planned and done by catholic architectures or architecs who are catholic and know the fundamentals of the catholic church. So many people are going toward pagan architecs who do not know a thing about the catholic church. They want modern day buildings and you know that would be nice but lets not put the baptismal font as the centerpiece in the church. The church should not look like madison square garden but a place of worship where the tabrenacle is the center and let it be big. He is who we are going to see. So lets pray that this next pope will bring down blessings on our church.

Is that really the architect's fault, or the people at the parish in charge of planning the building?

Its the bishop's fault for permitting it.

my home parish is getting the 'worship space' built (we were really small) and they used an architect who made it the standard crud. The tabernacle is in the bell tower, not the sanctuary. So we still don't need to genuflect...I hate that parish. I wish I was the 'pastoral coordinator' because I know more about being Catholic than she does.

I don't think it's neccisary. Even the Symphony that played for the Vatican all the time's owner was Jewish. I believe some of our architects were nonChristian or non Catholic back in the days. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Our tabernacle is hidden in a prayer chapel....

So I genefulect to the altar. It is a holy place, albeit not Jesus, but it's sad when I walk in and have nothing to bow to, so I bow to table of God.

God bless,
Mikey

I'm with musturde on this one. I would rather have trained musicians playing at Mass than a nun with six guitar lessons. If two are evenly qualified and one is Catholic, the Catholic should get the nod. But if its a classicly trained lutheran v a poorly trained Catholic, I'll take the lutheran.

we used to have our tabernacle off to the side but our new pastor had it moved and put right in the center behind the alter so its visible to everyone :)

I think the point was that we need to find these well trained Catholic people for these jobs, not just jump on the first professional we see.

Our parish is lucky because our priest is very traditional with the way the Church in the old days were set up (after Vatican II, he isnt a traditionalist.) Our tabernacle is right up front, surrounded by a gold piece of the high altar with statues of saints, and a beautiful crucifix. All of it is original with when the Church was built in 1901, and it as well as a huge painting of St James the less being persecuted, and looked down upon from Heaven by the Lord, survived a fire.

I don't think it makes a difference if they be a Catholic architect, or one of those evil satanic pagan architects!
