Paladin D
Wasn't there some sort of document, or statement made back in the 1980's, which said that laymen should not use Christ's name to directly rebuke an evil spirit? It was by some sort of Church authority, but not exactly sure who or what the name of it was.
LittleLes
Hi Paladin D, I'm told wearing a garlic on a string around one's neck wards off evil spirits too. LittleLes

Aloysius
the Church forbids its members from adressing the devil directly. That is because it is dangerous. call upon Christ and St. Michael and your guardian angel to protect you.. those are the people you want to adress. leave the direct exorcism up to the professionals for the safety of your own soul. Carnanc
yes, the Church does not allow us to ever directly address a demon.
