That is so sad! But I've found then entire Kenobi character to be sad. Which is great - it makes him a truly great character!

EP3: Massive Spoiler in Behind the Helmet Pic

Tonight's member-exclusive Before the Helmet picture on the Official Site is a massive one. The series of pictures hasn't been very aggressive so far - but this one makes up for the previous and then some. Pictured is (major spoiler) "the lightsaber hilt of Darth Sidious." You must decide what that means for yourself, but we forsee greatness. Of course, spoiler junkies remember a reference to this event in SPY REPORT: Revelation of the Site from last month. The spoiler forums are buzzing with the apparent news.

EP3: Insider Picture Descriptions and More

Celticsfan reports on the new Star Wars Insider hitting your mailbox tomorrow and newsstands later in the week:

I just received the latest issue of Star Wars: Insider (#72) this morning and I thought that I’d share some of the info from the “Prequel Update” segment. Here’s a few of Rick McCallum’s answers from the "Rumor shooting gallery"

-Insider: ”We read on Hyperspace that you said there’s another character who’s a clone.”

-McCallum: ”Uh, I did. But you can’t believe [everything you read online]. In the middle of that set I had to go out and take a telephone call, and Pablo continued, and he gets me into so much trouble”

-Insider: ”Chewbacca delivers the children to safety.”

-McCallum: ”Negative.”

-Insider: “One of the principal characters has a near-nude scene”.

-McCallum: ”No. Topless."

Also, there’s some great pictures from the set, including one of Obi-Wan and Anakin in the lobby of a Trade Federation cruiser, a pic of Hayden in the make-up chair waiting patiently for that days transformation with the caption “-a prelude to a much more dramatic one later”, Anakin and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine discussing “something of importance”, as well as a shot of a new vehicle, a transporter for the Supreme Chancellor. Be sure to pick it up, discussion is full on here. (http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?top...873&replies=207)

amesome as always

Hopefully Episode III would be much better than the other two Prequels, and more classical.

- The sets will look similar to that of the Classic movies (since it's adjusting)

- Anthony Daniels (voice and actor of C-3PO) said this movie is more for an "adult" audience. While TPM and AOTC were aimed more toward children.

- They are currently having a challenging time keeping this movie in a PG rating, it can easily be a PG-13 film. That is why they have filmed some alternative scenes on some.

- Vader, nuff said (though he's only around at the end of the film, but you still get to hear James Earl Jones).

- It's even closer to the Classics, tieing the two together.

- Definatly going to be thee darkest SW film (passing ESB).

- And more...

Yep. Can't wait. And funny thing for me, spoilers don't spoil it at all. In fact, they seem to help in my anticipation of the movie. Sad that it might very well be truly over though...Star Wars has been my favorite since I was six years old and saw it at a drive-in theater when it came out in '77...

Yep.  Can't wait.  And funny thing for me, spoilers don't spoil it at all.  In fact, they seem to help in my anticipation of the movie.  Sad that it might very well be truly over though...Star Wars has been my favorite since I was six years old and saw it at a drive-in theater when it came out in '77...

Actually...this was reported October 21st, this year.

Episodes 7, 8, and 9 In The Works?

As many of you have reported, Dark Horizons posted the following:

"One of my pals at ILM told me a few days back that another trilogy 'might' happen. This is the sequel trilogy that Lucas said he'd never do. It's very very early days yet, but apparently there is some talk, even to the point of Mr Spielberg - who was interested in doing 'Clones' at one point - stepping in for Lucas, who may want to write, but probably won't want to direct. If Lucas doesn't they'll probably work out a deal for say Frank Darabont to pen (ala the current "Indiana Jones IV" arrangement). This one would be the three films following Return of the Jedi, Han Solo, Skywalker, post-Darth etc. How hard of a time are they going to have on their hands getting some of those original players! ha ha! finally a fitting use for CGI hey? The deal is everyone wants the sequels, except Lucas, who is apparently exhausted [Personally I'd say studio pressure]. If Spielberg directs, it could be ok. Better than those terrible prequel movies".

Our thoughts? Well, there have been rumors about a sequel trilogy for as long as there's been Star Wars. However, we have yet to hear any rumblings on this. Lucas has also publicly stated that he's done with Star Wars after Episode III. He wants to move on to other projects. Plus, there's no way they're going to be able to get Harrison Ford to play Han Solo again without generous sums of cash and giving him free reign over his character.

However....

If Dark Horizons says their source is reliable, we're inclined to believe them. Plus it seems crazy to let a multi-million dollar franchise fizzle and die after Episode III. The story still has life in it and can still generate money. Plus there are probably a long line of excellent writers and directors who would love to play in a galaxy far, far away that Lucas wouldn't have to get that involved with. After all, he's allowing the Clone Wars cartoons to play in the universe without him and he seems to be pleased with the results. The same goes with the Star Wars fan films.

Anyway, don't put too much stock in this rumor yet, but don't flush it away either. After all, Lucas has been known to change his mind...from time to time. (Did Greedo shoot first?!?)

EP3: SPY REPORT: From This Day Forward

A new insider we'll call FourthHandLuke shares some loose information about Episode III, centering on one tragic scene. Here's the scoop, consider it rumor until we can develop it more:

I have some information on the funeral scene in Episode III for you. I actually recieved the information along with details of some other scenes from a friend in early summer, probably around the time pre-production was finishing up, so I'm not too sure about how current it is. Though, I'd guess the general set-up is the same, so onto that...

The gathering is held on Naboo and the scene shouldn't take much longer than the wedding scene in Episode II. Among those in attendance are Sio Bibble, the Queen, some handmaidens, Padme's family, and the loyalists. This is confusing however, because from what I'm told, Bail is taking care to Leia and securing her hiding-place at this point, though I assumed Bail would be included with the Loyalists. So I'm not really sure as to if Bail is there or not. Oh well...back to the scene. The standard ceremonious pretty Naboo dosen't exist at all here, as you'd probably assume that it wouldn't in the context of a funeral.

By now, it's obvious that the Empire is in control, at least to the Loyalists, who are "in the know", it's not clear as to whether or not the Government on Naboo really understands the implications of the recent events yet, or more generally whether the general population of the Galaxy as a whole understand that they are on the brink of Imperial oppression.

While the focus of the scene is on the proceedings of the funeral there is a general tense feeling from those in attendance. Uncertainty and bracing for what's to come.

Now I can't vouch for the authenticity of anything after this because it's from a different source, but I've been suggested that Padme's death is used by the loyalists as almost a rallying point, or, more accurately, proof of their cause to garner support.

And as an aside, here's more info on the same subject from a couple of other sources:

Padme is carried to the graveside in a floating casket, much like the carbonite block carrying Han Solo on Cloud City.

The art was drawn up both ways - one with the casket open and the other simply closed. So we may get a glimpse of her lying inside of it all fixed up...yikes.

You can also see an "informed" vector rendering of the potential scene from TFN spy artist Anthony right here. http://cgi.theforce.net/image.cgi?Image=/e...mefakedeath.jpg

EP3: SPY REPORT: Balance to the Force

TFN reader Darth Insidious got some "friend of a friend" info that fits into the rumor category of Episode III information. The info deals with Yoda and a discovery he makes during the film. Read at your own risk and consider the source:

You heard the spoiler that Yoda discovers that if you kill the master the apprentice will fall, right? It isn't that whenever you kill a master the apprentice dies no matter what. Rather what Yoda learns on Kashykk, apparently, is that the prophecy states that the Dark Lord of the Sith will be defeated by the Chosen One, and when he is defeated his apprentice too shall fall.

Of course this is exactly what happens. Vader kills Sidious, but in so doing is also killed, thus bringing balance to the force.

We like the way this fits, big time. It connects the final prequel in a foreshadowing way to the Classic Trilogy. Hopefully it is accurate.

Aw man, this is getting pretty freakin' weird. I lost hope when I saw Episode 1. Did Episode 2 smell of elderberries equally as bad? :) <_<
